My understanding of JF’s contract is the buyout is around $50 mil but if he takes another job (and he’ll almost certainly get hired for 2026 if he wants to) the new salary offsets (reduces) the buyout.

Yeah that's how those contracts work. And what he will do is sign, say, a 7-year, $80 million deal. His first three years, he will make $1 million a year and then when his buyout is paid, his salary will jump to like $20 million for the final four years. That's how they all maximize their money
