Just saw Roger Goodell up here in the press box area. Maybe he'll write my instant analysis for me.

What do you make of the internet sleuths speculating that Fields’ injury is a smoke screen prelude to a shock trade?
Brian Batko
7:39
I understand the speculation. Seems like the Panthers held out Diontae Johnson with a rib injury this week in part to preserve his value. But I don't think the Steelers would want to deal Fields. Not with the way he played the first six weeks, the promise he showed and the small sample size we've seen so far from Russ.

As a follow up ... anyway that DJ winds up back in the Burgh?
Brian Batko
7:43
No, NFL policy does not allow for a trade back within a 2-year window.

I wish they could outlaw political ads during MNF.  LOL

Only one more week, but next Monday might be the worst of it. Both sides will be emptying the bank!

Good evening Ray & Brian. Any updates on Cory Trice? Thought he was due back this week but perhaps he had another setback.
Ray Fittipaldo
7:45
Trice remains on IR and they have not opened his 21-day window. Maybe that will happen after the off week.

Is anyone else on kelce overload already?
Brian Batko
7:45
Yes

Saw that Roman Wilson is going on IR.  Any other rumors on WRs Steelers are still in the market for?
Brian Batko
7:46
There always are rumors, but nothing rising above that yet other than previous reported interest in Mike Williams of the Jets. They supposedly were going to table those negotiations until after playing each other.
Mike Mitchell DB

agreed Hillbilly!  He adds very little to the show from any standpoint

I have a good feeling about tonight’s game. I could see our pass rush forcing mistakes by Jones. Their secondary is struggling. This is the opportunity to get off the early game shnide and put the game away early. Cheers brothers and sisters of the black and gold!!

One aspect that should be interesting is the Giants trying to double-team George Pickens to take him away. Their DC Shane Bowen coached under Mike Vrabel, who of course played and coached under Bill Belichick. They want to contain your best option and make other guys beat you. Does Arthur Smith have answers for that? Can Calvin Austin/Van Jefferson/Pat Freiermuth take advantage? Can Russ? We'll see.

Think Najee can break 150 yds tonight?
Ray Fittipaldo
7:49
Probably not with Warren back to full health. They like to split the snaps between Harris and Warren, but together they could do some damage.
Brian Batko
7:56
If you want to take your Justin Fields conspiracy theories up a notch, please also note that the Steelers don't want fans to boo Russ and chant Justin if 3 struggles. Like the Browns a couple weeks ago. You can have that one free of charge.

I hope MT gets a good look at what a good nose tackle looks like tonight. Lawrence is not only a run stuffer, he creates pressure up the middle. A solid 6'4'' 340 lb monster.

A dancing bear!

BB: are you ready to concede that Brian Thomas would have been an awesome pick at 20 last April?  With a dynamic WR2, the Steelers would be complete instead of taking a tackle with injury concerns who has played in 2 games and been injured twice.
Brian Batko
7:58
If you would've told me Troy Fautanu was going to mess up his knee in practice two weeks in, then sure.

Ray do you think Fields could be traded before the deadline?  Allen played pretty good in preseason.
Ray Fittipaldo
7:59
No.

That dancing bear would’ve been a good test for Zach Fraser, had he stayed healthy.
Ray Fittipaldo

Yes for sure. Tough matchup for McCollum, but they'll give him help all night.

You need two good quarterbacks to survive in this league. Absolutely cannot trade fields.

Giants have the most sacks in the league. Hopefully the Steelers can run the ball or Russell will be running for his life.

Time to capitalize on the ratbird loss and not sleepwalk through the first half
Ray Fittipaldo

OK almost game time. Paul Zeise will be along soon to take you through the rest of the game. My prediction: Steelers 23, Giants 13.

I'm out of here too. Steelers get pressure all night rushing four, Daniel Jones can't do anything against the secondary and Steelers win, 25-9.

Odd question, but a real one:   Do women in sports get groin injuries too?  You never hear much about them.

Why don't they mention no playoff wins in seven years. Longest active streak for a coach.

Let’s go see how Russell Wilson Book II goes tonight. Interior O line has to dew its. 40-13 Steelers

Does the gravity pull the steeler nation back to earth? A few 50/50 balls both on O & D  saved the day last week. I believe steelers are still a bad team on O. Sure, they will win today but, Giants are what they are
