Both really. I think Fautanu will be fine once he settles in after missing almost all of his rookie season. Jones had a good camp. Now he has to prove he's improved.

What is wrong with Lazard being deactivated today?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:44
Nothing. Scuttlebutt in the press box from Jets writers is that he's a healthy scratch.

I’m walking the concourse now and the rain is coming down a little harder. Doesn’t seem like it’s going to stop by kickoff, but shouldn’t be a heavy downpour.

11:48
Over or under 200 yds for A-Rod today?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:49
I'll go under.
Shadow1
11:52
Over or under 100 yds for Warren today?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:53
Scrimmage yards or rushing? I'll go under on both. I think you'll see Gainwell and Johnson get some snaps today.
Shadow1
11:56
Over or under 3 sacks today by Steeler defense?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:57
Not having Herbig will hurt. But they should be able to get three. I'll say one each for Watt and Highsmith and one from Heyward. How's that?
Shadow1
11:58
Sounds great Ray
Brian Batko
12:02
No surprise of course but tons of Steelers fans here. Won’t be much of a homefield advantage for the J-E-T-S Jets.

Do yinz foresee any team going from pretender to contender this year?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:03
Maybe a team from a bad division like the AFC or NFC South.

Thoughts on the Picken’s WWE clothesline Thursday nite?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:16
Not surprised. He's not coachable.

More likely today … 2 rushing TD for Fields or 3 passing TD for ARod?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:16
I'll go with three TDs from Rodgers.
Brian Batko
12:20
I’ll go the other way

12:21
Bruener gets a helmet I saw?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:21
Special teams.

12:21
Clowns or Bungles today?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:21
Gott go Bungles.
Matt from Davidson NC
12:22
Herbig is unavailable too often. Agree?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:23
He missed four games last season but played in all 17 as a rookie. I'm not going to say he's injury-prone after one season and one game this season.

in preparation for today’s game, everyone watch the clip of Quinnen Williams sneezing, blessing himself, then thanking himself.  good stuff

Here's hoping Rodgers brings out the performance in Washington that I've believed lurks behind his incredible stats:  11 inch hands, 34 inch arms, a 4.65 forty to go with a 6'7" frame.  I just Arthur Smith doesn't foul it up.  What are the chances that Rodgers looks to him often?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:28
Rodgers said last week Washington might be the most impressive TE he has. I'm sure he'll use him, but he has two other (and highly compensated) TEs with better resumes. Perhaps Washington emerges as a red-zone target more often.

Steelers warming up now here at JetLife Stadium. For what it's worth, the first full offensive formation to take the field has DK Metcalf, Calvin Austin III, Jonnu Smith and Pat Freiermuth. The first defense has Isaiahh Loudermilk at left defensive end, not Yahya Black.
12:31
And with the second groups coming out, Malik Harrison is at outside linebacker on the right side, Jack Sawyer on the left side, Cole Holcomb and Carson Bruener the ILBs.

Do A-Rod or Flacco play more games this yr?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:34
I can see the Browns going to a rookie if things go south. I don't see that happening with the Steelers. So I'll say Rodgers.
Brian Batko
12:38
Kickoff is at 1:02 p.m. sharp. Plan accordingly.

12:38
Any idea what a beer and hot dog costs there today?
Brian Batko
12:38
Not sure about hot dog but I did see something interesting: "Value beer" for $5! At an NFL game in 2025!
Jay David
12:39
Not a question, just an observation.  Lotta black & gold at MetLife today.  There usually is.  I'm on the 25 on the Jets side.  Last time I was here for the Jets-Steelers Michael Vick kicked our butt and I left before Ben hit Bryant for 80 yards.
Brian Batko
12:40
I see you, Jay. Looking good.

12:40
That's A deal Bats!

What’s the latest on Cam Hayward’s contract adjustment?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:45
They added some incentives that are tied to the playoffs. Could be up to $3.2 million. He could get nothing though. The question now is whether Heyward can move forward without any hard feelings. This is not the outcome he wanted. When he spoke to reporters in Latrobe he indicated he'd like guaranteed money added to his deal this year. There had been talk of the Steelers advancing him some of next year's March roster bonus. That did not happen. So he's returning to play without any additional guarantees in his deal. Only incentives that will be impossible to reach if the Steelers don't make the playoffs.
