James Campen -- who has a really good rep and historry. I've been thinking he'd do a good job and think he may just need time to adjust to this group.

But with the investments made there, you'd think it'd be better already.

Broderick Jones responsible for a sack against the 3rd stringers. Yikes. Yipes. All the words.

OLs take time and consistant time together... blocking for their starting QB and backs

Allar held the ball too long. That’s on him

I think the 2 young QBs have come back to earth. Neither looks bad, neither looks good. Howard 2 horrible passes for ints. Allar getting mauled.
Hillbilly
9:29
Agreed Jeff B. I’d like to see Allar get to start next week just to see if he looks better or just as horrific as Howard

Cameron Johnston tonight’s Steeler MVP.

Every year people over blow a early preseason up and down... every year Lucy puts the ball down for charlie and....

Brodrick Jones getting beaten by future car salesmen.

Preseason doesn't matter, but I don't remember this hapless of a preseason QB showing since the Landry Jones days. Maybe I'm forgetting some. But ... yeesh.
Greg

I really wanted to watch a better product of football this year. Less super-conservative offense with 1-2 yard runs on first down. Please tell me we’re showing tonight’s game to confuse everyone when the season starts?
Christopher Carter
9:32
It's important to remember that Aaron Rodgers will see and do a lot more with the offense. But this should be a reminder to the "JUST START THE YOUNG GUYS" crowd.

Yeah but theyll be selling him a car

The fans here are not going to be happy with a shut out, even if it is only preseason.   Pressure to begin on MM.
Christopher Carter
9:32
Ken, I guarantee you this brings zero pressure on McCarthy.

Chris - I love your work and listen to you literally every day. You're always the start of my gym time. Thank you so much for all you do and I'm so happy PPG will remain one of the best papers in the country. All the best to you my man.

Thank you DD!

Late fourth quarter preseason was Kenny Pickett's time to shine.
Drew Allar lets a ball fly that's just terrible and misses everything.
Then a drop the next play.
9:35
Then a breakup.

3-and-out for Drew Allar.

Do think the young QBs got humbled a bit after their strong night last week.

Just keep in mind Carter is gettin paid ( deserves a raise) people in the stands paid full price... reg season price... for this... as they do every year... Lucy pulls the ball away at last second and...
9:37
Allar flat footed way off target not driving the ball
JeffB
9:37
I know it’s preseason. But, there’s a little stench on this one.
Hillbilly
9:37
Uggggh. Throwing short of the sticks again on third down? Is Arthur Smith still here?
Duquesne Duke
9:37
I think this game is a massive reality check. The Jets still have a top 10 defense, and I think the offense saw a lot more looks than GB. What does that say about our offense and defense when the Jets do this to us.
AB Normalville
9:37
Allar has not looked good but he also hasn’t made any huge mistakes. Next week is his Super Bowl because he will probably sit the rest of the way
Greg
9:37
Don’t want to overreact - but I don’t see how either of these QBs go from this to starting QB next year
Ken
9:38
The last time the Steelers were shut out in preseason was 2016.
Christopher Carter
9:40
Correct Ken! 17-0 to the Eagles.
JeffB
9:40
Defense has played solid. Offense….well
Epiballo
9:40
Shutout maybe, but Boswell would have hit that FG.
Hillbilly
9:40
Allar or Howard? Answer at the moment is none of the above, but I am willing to give a young guy, the benefit of the doubt. Both need more time in this coaching system.
Christopher Carter
9:41
Jets have 4th and 3 on the Steelers' 31 and are going for it. They get it, this game is over. They don't, Allar gets one more chance.
Thanks for staying locked in with us here. You are all official football sickos like me.

Allar can throw a ball through a barn wall.  Sadly, he can't hit the broad side of one.

TOUCHDOWN: Brady Cook goes deep on 4th down and hits his man for a Quincy Skinner Jr. for 31 yards.

Drive: 6 plays, 49 yards, 1:28.

Jets 17, #Steelers 0. Q4, 1:53.

One more drive for Drew Allar.
Ken

Post game should be very interesting.
Hillbilly

Thank you, Chris. I am OK with being wrong. Ain’t the first time and it won’t be last
