Welcome to tonight's live Steelers chat. It is Paul Zeise, and I will be handling this tonight. We can discuss the game as it unfolds, I will give you some thoughts and of course I want all of your thoughts and questions as well. The Lions are awful but this is the preseason and winning and losing isn't what matters. We of course will monitor the quarterbacks, offensive line and cornerbacks and of course the debut of Joe Schobert!
Let's get started

Hi Paul. I am beginning to smell a draft Bust or at least disappointment in Devin Bush. For the #10 pick his height deficiency seemed to great handicap to trade up and use it on him. No matter the need. You can get away with it in College. But not NFL. What do you think?
Zeise
7:21
The key will be what you just said - expectations. They are very high for him since he was the 10th pick. He can be a very good player and not live up to what you would expect from a player drafted that high. He does need to get better and really become a more consistent linebacker.

Thanks once again for the chats. Have always been a Big Ben fan and looking forward to seeing him play tonight. Don’t really understand all the hype over who replaces him next year. If he has a good season, which I expect, is there any reason why he couldn’t return for another season?
Zeise
7:22
There is not. And if he plays well and is healthy at the end of the year, not only do I think there is a chance that he will come back - I expect he will come back.
7:23
Chase Claypool is not gonna play apparently
7:28
The apparent order of quarterbacks will be Ben, then Mason Rudolph, then Dwayne Haskins then Josh Dobbs
7:30
Joe Schobert is in the building and ready to make his Steelers debut
7:34
The Steelers announced two tight ends - Freiermuth and Ebron - as starters but also three wide receivers, Diontae Johnson, James Washington and JuJu Smith-Schuster. So they will apparently start in the Oopty-Oop offense
7:36
Offensive line is as we suspected - Left to right: Chuks, Dotson, Green, Turner and Banner. And Okarofor gets a penalty in the first play of the game
7:38
OK time to get Ben out of the game. What the hell is he thinking running around like that and putting himself in harms way????
Joe
7:38
i know it’s early but this offense so far is looking like the one that failed last year…dink and dunk
Zeise
7:39
Yeah that first series was not really inspiring. But I don't think they are gonna show much tonight
Harvin is a beast
The Dude
7:40
Would have been fine if Enron just catches the ball
Zeise
7:41
Ebron drops way too many passes
The Dude
7:43
Always has
Zeise
7:43
That has been his problem, it has been really bad for him in this regard
The Dude
7:43
The Lions are not very good
Zeise
7:43
No and it seems like the coach is a total meathead too
Bubby_Blister
7:46
Ray Ray needs to get on with his life’s work.
Zeise
7:46
They seem to love him don't they? I don't get it, I really don't
The Dude
7:46
Weren’t folks in the stands supposed to wear masks?
Zeise
7:47
No, only when they go inside
The Dude
7:47
Second coach to be let go after Fangio in Denver
Zeise
7:47
No, he is in his first season he won't get fired until next year
Bubby_Blister
7:47
Joe nailed it.
Zeise
7:48
Which of these things did he nail it with
Bizman
7:48
Is Ray Ray making the team?
Zeise
7:48
I think he is, like I said they love him
david Piwonski
7:48
Cut Ebron...run with the kids....
Zeise
7:49
You can't cut him, he is still a somewhat valuable weapon
The Dude
7:49
Nice gain but it was a floater
Zeise
7:49
Yes, it wasn't exactly a bullet but it got there
Bizman
7:49
getting Harris killed on that bad toss
Zeise
7:49
There were many who wanted Mason Rudolph to get cut for less than that last week
Bizman
7:49
a good safety flies in there and picks it off
Zeise
7:49
Yes, this Lions defense is going to be putrid i think
Bubby_Blister
7:49
Ebron can’t block or catch
