the problem with his offense is its passive relying on mis direction,and trying to spread the field wide instead of vertical.this can work in college but nfl defenses study too much film and are a step faster

I am sure the play was not designed to go to the check down receiver. Mitch probably does not have the confidence to hit crossing routes downfield. Not sure when that will change, but to buy in to the check down being the play call is ridiculous
