Hey everyone, Ray and I are here in the M&T Bank Field press box waiting for Steelers-Ravens kickoff at 4:30.

Welcome to our Steelers-Ravens chat. Post your questions!

2:35The Steelers have already ruled three players out today -- George Pickens, Justin Fields and DeShon Elliott. Inactives come out in about a half hour. We'll find out then about Larry Ogunjobi and Donte Jackson.2:44The Steelers have won their past four games in Baltimore. They can clinch the AFC North title with a victory this afternoon. Sunny right now, but temperatures expected in the mid to low 30s by kickoff.

Trying to get eyes on Donte Jackson up here to see what's going on with his back. If the player I'm looking at in a gray hoodie is him, which I think it is, he's not doing anything with the other DBs at the moment.

Will see a lot of Terrible Towels waving in Baltimore today?
Ray Fittipaldo
2:59
It's early, but I see a few.

Inactives will be out any minute now

It’s about time for Minkah to step up with an INT or pick six.  How washed is Minkah?
Brian Batko
3:00
Lamar Jackson has thrown three picks all year and I believe all have been some what fluky, so it won't be an easy day to get one.

I think it's risky playing TJ today. Rushing him or Pickens or Elliott back won't be worth getting a higher seed if they're not available for the playoffs. Would rather be a lower seed and healthy than a higher seed and playing a home playoff game without our best player on each side of the ball.
Ray Fittipaldo
3:02
I definitely see your point. I don't think the doctors would have cleared him if it's something that can get drastically worse. As TJ said on Thursday, everyone is banged up this time of the year. And hey, if they win today they can rest a lot of players the next couple of weeks if they so choose.
Brian Batko
3:03
Donte Jackson and Larry Ogunjobi both inactive for Steelers. Cory Trice is back in.
3:08
TJ Watt looks like his usual self out there warming up with the other outside linebackers. Already in his game pants.

will the Steelers sign a humbled DJ back to the roster?
Brian Batko
3:11
Well they'd have to put in a waiver claim for him and there's no guarantee that they'd be the first to do so. I think it seems pretty unlikely this season given those factors. But would I rule it out next year? Not necessarily. If he's been humbled, I could see the faintest chance that the Steelers talk themselves into it from a roster fit standpoint.

Any chance Arthur Smith will ditch the toss play to Najee and NOT run off tackle on first down the first 5 drives?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:12
We can only hope.

Watching games around the league, a lot of players point first down after a play. Sometimes it gets called a penalty for mimicking shooting, sometimes it doesn’t. I am surprised coaches don’t outlaw that on the team, because when called, it is a real drive killer. Do you know if the Steelers coaches have asked players to skip that celebration?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:14
I saw Nico Collins do it earlier today, and there was no penalty. George Pickens said he's done it in the past and wasn't flagged, but he was flagged in Cleveland. Like a lot of things with NFL officiating, there isn't a lot of consistency.

Im going to scream the first drive we see the toss on 1st down...then the second drive when we see it on 1st down...

3:16
Why the incredibly slow starts on offense - bad play calling by Arthur Smith or the same old timid strategy of Mike Tomlin?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:16
Probably a little of both.

3:17
Have the Steelers won their last game of the season already?!?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:18
Why the bleak outlook, Doug?

Since the Ravens seem to be down to one healthy good WR, do you expect the Steelers to have Porter follow Flowers wherever he lines up?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:19
Not necessarily. Flowers is small and quick. Steelers might mix it up a bit with Jackson out.

3:20
Is Justin Fields healthy? Will he appear for his usual 2-3 gadget plays?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:20
Fields was ruled out Thursday. He has an abdominal injury.

Is JPJ overrated? Slightly better than Artie Burns?  Or he just needs more coaching to improve his technique?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:22
He's more than slightly better than Artie Burns, but he is still developing. He has to learn how to not be so handsy at the NFL level. He got away with it in college, but the NFL officials call it.

3:22
Is Fields' injury a bigger problem than we think it is? He could have been a nice change up for a few plays in what may be another low scoring game. Can he come back Wednesday?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:23
The fact that he was ruled out so early doesn't give me a lot of hope about Wednesday, but we'll see. He's not on IR, so it appears he'll be back by at least Week 18 against the Bengals.

3:26
Kansas City is up by eight in the third quarter now. Do you think, win or lose, that Andy Reid will feel compelled to play Mahomes, if he is healthy, Wednesday so it will not appear that the Chiefs are rolling over in game they don't need?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:27
It doesn't even look like Mahomes is hurt. Did you see him running around in the first half? He'll play. If they win today they can wrap up the 1 seed with a win against the Steelers unless the Patriots upset the Bills tomorrow. So maybe you should root for the Pats tomorrow!
3:28
Watching the punters warm up... the wind definitely could be a factor this afternoon. It's whipping around pretty good right now about an hour before the game.

3:29
Never, ever, can root for the Patriots or my daughter will disown me. She hated Tom Brady growing up and hasn't gotten over that. Aside from the cold, will weather or the field be a factor today?
Ray Fittipaldo
3:29
See above.

The Steelers don't seem to use wheel routes a lot. Seems like on a day like this that it wouldn't be a bad idea to let Warren sprint down the sideline a time or two, or maybe park a WR or C Heyward back there.
Brian Batko
3:33
Sounds like a job for Cordarrelle Patterson!
Ray Fittipaldo
3:33
Maybe Art will break that out today. The Ravens are much better defensively than they were earlier in the season. Mike Tomlin credits Dean Peas for the turnaround.

Fluky Brian? One was a great play by Wilson. Can’t call that fluky
