Good morning. We are live from M&T Bank Stadium. Get your questions in the queue and Brian and I will be back soon to begin answering them to get you ready for Steelers-Ravens. First place in the AFC North is on the line.

What record wins the AFC North?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:53
I say 9-8, but I wouldn't be surprised at all if it's 8-9. I wrote about the state of the AFC North this week. Check out the story here: https://www.post-gazette.com/sports/steelers/2025/12/06/steelers-raven...

I really really want the Steelers to smash the Ravens today. I’m worried that is just to satisfy my instant gratification where a loss may be better for the franchise in the long run. Your thoughts?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:55
Is a loss good in the long run? 8-9 or 7-10 won't get the Steelers a top 10 pick in the draft. I'm not even sure 6-11 would. The game today is for first place against their No. 1 rival. I say enjoy it and worry about the 2026 draft in 2026.

Stop the run and run the ball. Can the Steelers do either?
Ray Fittipaldo
10:59
The Steelers are 28th in the NFL in rushing offense and 17th in rushing defense. That's bottom half of the league in both categories. The odd thing is the Steelers have risen up and looked like a good rushing offense on occasion this season. They certainly did against the Bears two weeks ago. The same goes for their rushing defense. They shut down Jonathan Taylor and the Colts when they were the No. 1 offense in the league in October. However, there has been zero consistency on either side of the ball. Thus the 6-6 record. This team is so up and down that it's hard to get a feel for how they'll play week to week.

Is it best to drop this one so that we move up in the draft and the tone to fire Tomlin becomes louder?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:02
I know many Steelers fans are thinking this way, Tomlin has always found ways to get his players to respond. I don't have a feeling one way or the other about the final five games, but I'd be shocked if the team looked as uninspired as it did for the Bills game. If they do look that way again today it would be a big sign of trouble.

Hey everyone, just stuffed myself with some biscuits and gravy so I'm here now too.

Is Mr. Rogers starting today?

Gotta do my inactive predictions and it's a tough week, what with two practice squad elevations. Let's go with Will Howard (QB3), Scotty Miller, Calvin Anderson (hurt), Logan Lee, Derrick Harmon, Kyle Dugger ... and then it gets really tough ... Ke'Shawn Williams. That would mean Adam Thielen gets a helmet while someone else would need to be on kick return duty with Kenny Gainwell.
Ray Fittipaldo
11:10
Yes he is with no injury designation.

Patrick Queen and Chuck Clark saying hello now to Ravens head PR man Chad Steele on the field. Baltimore's Burt Lauten. Ravens, btw, going with purple tops and white pants.

Guys, why does this team feel so uncomfortably discombobulated in multiple ways.  Like trying to bake a cake with random ingredients added to what should be a solid foundation, then wondering why it just doesnt work right when it needs to be eaten?
Ray Fittipaldo
11:30
That's an interesting analogy. Things do seem to be off kilter on both sides of the ball. I know the offense has problems getting into a good rhythm. Lots of different personnel groupings. Maybe they should cut back on the number of players they're playing and just simplify things by getting the ball to their most talented players.
11:32
Steelers inactives for today:
No. 10 WR Roman Wilson
No. 18 QB Will Howard (3rd QB)
No. 29 S Kyle Dugger
No. 67 OL Calvin Anderson
No. 78 DT Brodric Martin-Rhodes
No. 85 WR Ke'Shawn Williams
No. 99 DT Derrick Harmon
Brian Batko
11:34
I'm honestly stunned that Roman Wilson is inactive today. Is this the team or Aaron Rodgers sending some sort of message? Particularly with Adam Thielen and Marquez Valdes-Scantling getting helmets. And Scotty Miller getting a helmet.

For example...Metcalf is getting a lot of heat.  However at least watching on TV, Rodgers whips the ball so fast so quick, how can a wideout...actually run a route let alone get seperation that fast
Brian Batko
11:40
Maybe this is purely performance-based. Roman Wilson hasn't caught a pass the past two games, has just four catches since Oct. 26, but Scotty Miller has one reception all season. To be fair, he hasn't gotten as many chances, but I actually think Wilson has gotten open at times and Aaron Rodgers hasn't connected with him.

Who is fielding kickoffs in warmups?
Brian Batko

Haven't gotten to that point yet, Yates, but we'll keep you posted.

The schedule is not fair too. Bills n Ravens are on 10 day rest before playing us. Extra days of prep always matter in competitive league.
Brian Batko
12:09
Yeah that certainly is a factor. But hey, the Steelers played the Packers on extra rest, so that's always a challenge of Thursday night football.
Yates
12:09
WR swaps at least a step.  Now let’s see 88 out snap Jonnu by a wide margin.  And A Smith committing to run the ball and not try to throw on 2nd and short just to mix things up.
Brian Batko
12:10
Will it happen? I don't know. But let's consider this pattern.

  • Aaron Rodgers says team didn't practice well in the cold. Steelers practice inside all three days this week
  • Rodgers says receivers aren't always getting open downfield. MVS gets elevated, Adam Thielen replaces Roman Wilson
  • Rodgers says Freiermuth should play more and strongly implies Jonnu should play less ...

Williams has looked very tentative so no surprise he did not get a hat
Ray Fittipaldo

Started off well, but he hasn't had many explosive returns in recent games.

Good morning fellas. Better odds that the Steelers run for 150+ today or hold the Ravens under that number? And is either/or a winning benchmark?
Ray Fittipaldo
12:13
The Steelers defense has risen up and defended the run well at times this year so I'll say the D holding the Ravens below 150. You know it's going to be a focus after the Ravens put up 299 on them in this stadium in the playoff game in January.
Brian Batko
12:13
Aaron Rodgers is taking snaps under center and also play-faking with that casted-up left hand, so that's a decent development for the Steelers offense.

I don't pay close attention when networks flex out of these games, but apparently CBS begged off the Buffalo-Bengals matchup a few weeks ago when it looked like Burrow was still out of the lineup and the Bengals looked dead to rights. Burrow vs. Allen in the snow looks pretty good right now though compared to this game, but maybe the Steelers and Ravens will surprise and give us a good game.
Yitzer
12:20
What do you guys think about the 2 new receivers getting helmets
Ray Fittipaldo
12:20
Why not? The passing game has been horrific.

Broderick Jones out here in street clothes despite what's likely a season-ending neck injury. Good to see him staying around the team and in good spirits, from what I can tell with my binoculars.
