UPDATE from Steelers: Diontae Johnson (concussion) and Derek Watt (hamstring) out for the rest of the game.

Steelers Defense all of the sudden can’t cover.  Were we all fooled by the mirage of a capable secondary last year?

It's possible that they overachieved last season, but something else to keep in mind is that they're going from Jeff Driskel to Deshaun Watson. Seems like they're still figuring out best course of action, whether to blitz him or maybe spy him with a DB. Whatever they're doing, it's leaving receivers running free.

Short yardage has been brutal this game

Anthony McFarland looked confused on that third-and-3 play. So my question would be why is he in there? Ended up splitting out wide, Ben runs right and MAY have reached the sticks.

The defense is playing against one of the best QBs in the game.

Gritty Ben!

Some interesting scores around the league:
Patriots 13, Raiders 10
Eagles 13, Bengals 10
Browns 17, Washington 7
Vikings 17, Titans (next up) 9
Bills 28, Rams 3(!)

They should win the challenge

It seems to me that the defense is living in their fear, in regards to the pass rush, as opposed to doing what they do best. Watson was sacked 8 times in the first two weeks, and the chiefs are not a dynamic pass rushing team. Not to mention, the first half game plan wasn't working anyways

Steelers lose a challenge. Take a swig.

Doesn’t make me feel much confidence the coaching staff knows what is going on when a guy goes from inactive in week 1 to feature in second half of game 3
Brian Batko

I wouldn't say they're featuring McFarland, but he's been involved a lot. Conner in the backfield now here on fourth-and-inches, with Vance McDonald at fullback.
Shawn

IDK what they saw there. That last look seemed definitive to me

With ebron, claypool, and vMac, this is where the Steelers should be most dangerous

Third-and-goal from the 15. That's never what you want.
2:58
Boswell's 26-yard field goal is good. Steelers trail 21-20 with 9:54 left in the third.

now ya gotta ask yaself....  can the D hold...  can they
Brian Batko

Indeed, we'll see what adjustments the defense made in the locker room. But sometimes the other guy's just better. Watson's been that so far.

It feels like this game is going to come down to which qb makes the mistake, or which defense forces it
Rich

They need to make some changes in the secondary, but who, what
HudsonValleySteve
3:00
didnt look that way his first two games...
Shawn
3:02
Not the secondary, rich, they need to pressure watson, and not give him a 5 second clean pocket.
