Hi Hira! Yes you can change if you speak to the residence team and explain why you want to move. You usually can move more easily in the first month of being in your accommodation. The residence team will show you the accommodations that have space left and you can pick which you would prefer to move to. You can find more information here: https://accommodation.leeds.ac.uk/residences/

If you don’t like your accommodation when you arrive can you change?

To access the virtual open day and register your interest, follow this link: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/homepage/59/undergraduate_open_days
There isn't a dentistry specific one, you just register your interest to that subject when you apply to the open day and you can 'visit' that area of the University and speak to teaching and admissions staff.

Hi Jade, thank you for your question.

The School of Law will provide you with a host of opportunities to help boost your career prospects; from developing skills in mooting and negotiating, hearing from prospective employers at specialist talks or career fairs or taking part in career mentoring. The support you will receive at the School of Law will help you kickstart your career.

AAt the University we have something called LeedsforLife. This is a website dedicated to allowing our current students to contact former students who have pursued a career that they wish to. You could use this, as well as talks and careers fairs to get opportunities for your future.

The University's Law societies - LawSoc - and BarSoc - run events to do with the bar including talks with Barristers. They also provide information for applications - such as what a barrister does etc. They run tours and trips to the Old Bailey in London.

They also help with scholarship applications and mini pupillage applications as they are ver

Thank you for organising this. Has the University changed the criteria for this year's admission? How does the Clearing process work for this University?

If students miss the conditions of their offer, we have a process in place to consider this and you will not automatically be unsuccessful. Similarly, Clearing is still scheduled to take place with vacancies available.[/color]

Hi Alan,

sorry for your wait. However, we have been trying our best to find out this answer for you. We would recommend they attending the virtual open day and ask the tutors directly or to email the Dentistry admissions team: denadmissions@leeds.ac.uk

However with the way they're working out the grades, we expect similar numbers of students will be awarded the same grades as to previous years. If a candidate achieves the grades on results day and meets their offer, they will join us at Leeds as planned.

How are dentistry courses planned to go ahead in septemeber, what will happen if more people meet their offer due to calculated grades

Hi Isabella,

You can choose to study a language as a Discovery module alongside your studies. You can take more discovery modules in first and second year but not usually in final year. You can learn more about how our courses are structured with optional and discovery modules here: https://students.leeds.ac.uk/info/10103/module_enrolment/774/discovery...
You can also be a part of a language society and learn it through this as well!
Isabella
4:40
Can you choose to study a language of your choice as part of credits but if not part of credits, just because you want to learn a language or carry on with one from a certain standard. For example, I would quite like to go back to French, I took a GCSE in this but would I be able to develop my skills further?

Thank you for organising this event. I would like to know if there have been any changes in the admissions for this summer. And also, how does the clearing process work for this University?

All new students will take part in programme of induction and orientation activities to help you familiarise yourself and settle into Leeds as quickly as possible. We're busy working with the teams in Leeds University Union to develop a series of activities and events, both on campus and online, so you can be sure of a warm and friendly welcome when you arrive. You will receive more details by email as they are confirmed. Please see the link regarding the Univesity of Leeds FAQ’s https://www.leeds.ac.uk/info/123000/international_students/802/coronav...

Thanks for your question, you can find out more about both courses on our virtual open day – which you can sign up for here: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/homepage/59/undergraduate_open_days. When you register your interest, you can select two courses to focus on. This will allow you to talk to staff from both PPE and Pol or IR and make an informed decision between them .

Hi – yes the University is part of a number of Higher Education committees and networks. We communicate regularly and work together to share ideas, best practice and how we can support prospective and current students to offer the best student experience during these uncertain times.

Is the university in contact with other university's to see what actions they can take on trying to get students back to the university and getting the university experience? thanks

Hi Zoe, we currently have just under 40,000 students at Leeds mixed between full time and part time. However, I will say that the campus rarely feels busy or congested thanks to the size of the campus and how buildings are structured. In comparison to others we are the 4th largest in the UK.
Zoe

How many students come to Leeds University - is this small or large in comparison to other universities?

Our campus will open in September, so your studies are not delayed. How we deliver our courses will depend on government guidance on social distancing at the time but our approach will be flexible, offering a mix of face-to-face and online learning. We’re preparing for all possibilities.
Teaching activities with large numbers of students will go ahead using digital technology. Teaching in small-group settings, including seminars, tutorials and practicals, will be delivered face to face on campus wherever it can be done safely.
Nearer the start of term, we’ll let you know the balance of on-campus and online teaching for your course and the support available to help you through your University journey. We’ll continue to review our plans regularly and implement any changes, in line with government guidance, as quickly as possible. Be assured, if you can’t travel to campus immediately, you’ll have remote access to all the support services and teaching resources you need for your studies. In regards to deferrin

Currently, we are unsure what will happen with examinations as we are focusing on induction for new students and what the beginning of the term will look like. This academic year, the majority of exams have been online but you will find out as soon as we know what we will plan to do with exams in the next academic year. Hello, thank you for your patience.

Although there is not an Israel society, you would be able to set one up through the University's union. You would just need to register your interest and have a certain number of people wanting to be apart of it.

I have friends who have been apart of the Jewish society, which you can find out more information here: https://www.luu.org.uk/jewish/. Those friends have not found it hard to attend the university and have enjoyed their time here.

Why is there only a Palestinian society and not an Israeli Society? Would life be hard for Israelis to attend this University?

There would be alternative ways to this planned and informed to the students accessing courses where audience is required such as ways like zoom or virtual assessments. To get specific advise on this please contact music department or visit our virtual open day to ask the department more questions:

You can apply for the 3 year course (AAA-AAB) and then if you achieve 2:1s or above in your first and second year you can transfer over to the Masters course. You can apply for our virtual open day if you want to ask lecturers and admissions teams of your chosen subjects more questions: https://www.leeds.ac.uk/homepage/59/undergraduate_open_days

The entry requirements for a BSc is AAA-ABB. But to do a masters is AAA. Do you need AAA to start the four year course or if you don't achieve this at A-level but prove yourself in the course can you be considered for a masters after the three years?

Hi Leah, clubs and societies have continued to take place even during lockdown, just in a different format with virtual activities etc. Most clubs and societies intend to continue with this from September and introduce members through online social events and activities. More information can be found here. https://www.luu.org.uk/clubs-and-societies/

Please see the link for a list of accommodations at University of Leeds https://accommodation.leeds.ac.uk/residences/ . Oxley Residence is a really good accommodation for social experience and it is less than a mile from the popular student area of Headingley. If you do choose an accommodation and find it is too noisy, it is possible to move to a quieter accommodation after.
