Mentor Mike

A lot of the time we don't exercise the put... when there is still time value left in the option it makes more sense just to sell the put and sell the stock.  Since we rarely hold the puts into expiration we don't run into the situation where it would make sense to exercise
David
2:20
When do you deccide to Exercise the Put in an MIT Trade?
Mentor Mike

Thanks Stu!

Great job Mike !!

Love that mindset Kevin!  Patience is key,  Also, most successful traders have found a simple, repeatable, non-emotional approach.

One can't help but notice the desire traders have to find a low maintenance strategy.  Lee with  TLT, Brandon with his methodology.  I've started thinking of this like feeding myself.  hunting, gathering, farming and trapping.  FARMING = buy, hold, collect dividends, TRAPPING = money press, HUNTING = surprise factor, crowbar, GATHERING = credit spreads, covered calls.  It's helped me to be more patient and keep perspective.
Mentor Mike

Yes Stella's presentation is a big focus on this along with mine tomorrow morning.  Hopefully it helps you get some ideas on risk management and position sizing to manage these market correction periods much more efficiently

For those of us who are in our 1st or 2nd year, can some of the speakers tell us how to work through some of the frustrations of mediocre returns, hard lessons and understanding the learning timeline we might expect?
Mentor Mike

SAMS will start the beginning of June... we will open enrollment for it in the next couple of weeks.  Stay tuned!
Brian
1:26
What is the cost for the SAMS course starting next week
Mentor Mike
12:57
Breaking for about 15 minutes... should get going again around 3:15
12:28
We can give it a few weeks of wiggle-room, but we like it to be close to that
John
12:28
The doubling of a stock can it be less than 52 weeks? how much less?
Mentor Mike
11:52
You can buy the stock and put protection on the same order... OR buy the put protection first then buy the stock, then sell the call
Mark
11:52
On SU when placing the order do you buy the stock long and buy the put at the same time on the same order??  Or can you do it separately and the broker will recognize this and adjust margin requirements accordingly?
Mentor Mike
11:52
Usually a strike price or two out of the money... I like to take the premium amount from selling the call, then multiply that premium by 2 or 3, then go buy a put around that value.  Just as a little guideline
John
11:51
What % do you buy the puts below the stock buy price
Mentor Mike
11:35
We are rolling!  Welcome back!
11:34
You will be able to watch the replay of the video just like you would a YouTube video.  Pause, rewind, fast forward, etc.
Dario
11:34
when the live stream is available are we able to download it for our personal use being able to start and stop and make notations.
Mentor Mike
10:20
We are breaking for lunch... we will start back up at 1:30 pm Eastern!
10:15
A couple comments for Twitter... with a buyout (or potential buyout) situation it almost takes a trade opportunity away.  The stock tends to stay in a pretty tight range near the potential buyout price and the option premiums practically vanish.
Steve
10:14
Twitter?
Mentor Mike
10:13
Yep!  We will spend some time on that for sure... might be Preston this afternoon (after lunch) or tomorrow
Brian
10:12

Tim Flaherty
10:11
How about looking at (TWTR) TWITTER
Mentor Mike
10:11

Delta neutral is when the trade doesn't have a bullish or bearish edge and it is built around a neutral/sideways movement
