Hello and Welcome to a panel discussion in a Post-Truth Age hosted by Oxford Union.
5:34
The panellists for the discussion today are- Robert Guest, the Foreign Editor of The Economist, Jeremy O'Grady the Editor-in-Chief of The Week, Jim White a writer, broadcaster, and columnist for The Telegraph.
5:43
Robert Guest started the panel by saying ,"We are now going back to the age where every story is on the internet and are not related to each other. There is a real trust issue over what we are reading".
5:45
He added that, real news cost a lot of money, reporters and family. If you want real news, someone has to pay for it.
5:48
When it comes to his own writing, Guest has also reported extensively on economics journalism.

Jeremy O'Grady further added to the discussion that, "The whole idea of objective reporting is under threat now and people are losing trust, the producers of news even in reputed journals are being disingenuous in some ways".
5:53
Grady's views on magazine reporting can be understood from his experience at The Week.
5:58
"Every one has the capability to become a journalist. We have the opportunity to become a journalists, we have greater means in our pockets. Yes, there are enormous dangers, such as trust, what we believe. What you can do, is to create a new world and new technology", Jim White concluded.
