Three current Badgers (Erlandson, Harned & Beckman) and an associate head coach as well as a future Badger all in the top 10.

Erlandson was a high school football quarterback and Madison Memorial who deferred his enrollment to UW to be able to play for the Badgers. He just wrapped up his freshman season. A normal week he might’ve been out of the tournament more than he was in it, but is Badgers associate head coach Ross Thompson told me earlier he’s a fighter and, this week, that was the 15th club in the bag.

Charlie Erlandson, a rising sophomore at UW, has birdied 13 and parred 14. He is alone in second at 1-under, one back of Sigl.

Vince Sigl finished T-30 at the Wisconsin State Junior a year ago. He committed recently to UW-Green Bay

Vince Sigl would become the youngest winner modern era, if not ever, should he hang on to win. The WIAA Division 2 state champ is 17 years old. Jeff Bisbee (1983), Steve Stricker (1985) and Matt Tolan (2017) were 18 wen they won. Andy North was 19 when he won the next-to-last State Am under the match-play format in 1969.
