Welcome!  My free agent power rankings are going up soon, so that's a good topic, but feel free to ask anything.

When do my friend Ronald Acuña and I get called up?
Tim Dierkes
1:52
I'll say by the end of May.  The Braves' current position actually makes some sense...why not let the guy start hitting before bringing him permanently to the bigs.

Joe Lucchesi is looking real good, and had a year and a halfish of great stats in Minors.  Is he this good?  Or just taking some time for the league to adjust to him?
Tim Dierkes
1:53
I think Lucchesi is a sub-4.00 ERA guy even as a rookie.  Seems like a possible #3 starter.

should I be worried about the cubs starting pitchers
Tim Dierkes
1:55
It's definitely been ugly across these 14 starts, but that's less than 9% of the season.  Good pitchers have bad three-start runs midseason all the time.  I'd be most worried about Chatwood...not clear why the Cubs thought they could fix his walk problem.

Chris Archer has been pitching terrible so far this year.  How much has it hurt his trade value?
Tim Dierkes
1:56
Barring injury, I'd say minmal effect on his trade value.  A guy like this isn't traded until July anyway.  If his ERA is over 5, or he's still walking 9.4% of batters, then his value could be depressed.
Rays
1:56
With Kiermaier out, what's the current package to induce Rays to move Archer?
Tim Dierkes
1:56
I don't think Kiermaier's injury changes the Archer calculus in April.
Willieee
1:57
When do you think Willie Calhoun will be called up?
Tim Dierkes
1:57
I expect to see Willie sometime this month.  I know his defense needs work, but why not add a bright spot to this team?

How long before White Sox have to consider sending Moncada to AAA? 24 Ks in 49 ABs...
Tim Dierkes
1:58
Yeah, that is a Javy Baez rookie season level of striking out.  I guess the Sox might look at a demotion to clear his head if it's still this bad a month from now.  Personally I'd prefer they just ride this out, let the MLB coaches work with him.  It's not a high-pressure situation currently.

Mets stay internal, add free agent, or make trade for catching help ?
Tim Dierkes

Would make sense to see what kind of physical condition Geovany Soto and Carlos Ruiz are in.  I have no idea what those two are up to.  A trade in June or July makes a lot of sense...Lucroy, Wilson Ramos, Chirinos.  Of course Realmuto is the more interesting long-term acquisition, and maybe teams are softening on this sort of intra-division trade.

How badly do I need another starting pitcher behind Richards, Ohtani, Skaggs, Heaney, Tropeano, Barria/Bridwell in our 6-man rotation. Who should I target?
Tim Dierkes
2:02
Clear area of upgrade.  They could get some bottom of the barrel FA at this point, and then look to acquire Gausman, Archer, Straily, or one of the Royals' veterans.  Obviously the price tags will run the gamut.

Well to be fair, I decided to host a chat on April 16th, so it's OK to ask those types of questions.

Did the Jays miss the bus by not trading Donaldson over the winter when his value was high? Seems to me now with this shoulder issue that his trade value is gonna be a fraction of what it was over the winter.  Thoughts?
Tim Dierkes
2:04
This team is still 38% to make the playoffs.  They are right there with the Angels and Twins trying to grab that second wild card spot.  So I think they made the right call in keeping Donaldson.

Would a no-no have helped my HOF chances?
Tim Dierkes

Oddly enough I do think adding that line to his bio might have snagged an extra vote or two.

Which NL Central teams are a real threat to the Cubs?  Pirates have a great start, but can they continue?
Tim Dierkes
2:07
Obv the Cards, but the Pirates and Brewers are legitimate contenders.  I think Corey Dickerson is only a slightly above average hitter, same with Cervelli, but guys like Marte and Polanco and to a lesser extent Moran and Bell could be for real.  It's not a six runs per game offense but certainly could smash projections.

Beltre, Hamels, Moore, Colon all traded by end of July, no?
Tim Dierkes
2:07
Kind of feel like Beltre stays just for his connection to the team.

When will Tim Dillard host a chat? I believe it will be great.
Tim Dierkes

This is a good idea.  I'll talk to him.
Vladdy Daddy

So Bo is hitting .350 and Vlad is doing everything. How and when do the Jays create space for these two uberprospects?
Tim Dierkes
2:10
Well, they could both get some time at Triple A.  I feel like the plan is more April 15, 2019 for this pair.

What are the Reds waiting on to call up Senzel?
Tim Dierkes
2:12
Similar to Acuna, might just want to see several weeks of quality hitting this year.  But the Reds/Louisville Bats have actually bumped Senzel back to 2B the list few games, so I'm not sure what the plan is there.

Can the White Sox get anything for Shields if he is healthy and eating innings at around a 4.15 (his current) ERA  at the trade deadline (or sooner)?
