It seems that the postseason pattern by some teams may make the trade market open up sooner than usual.  I'm thinking Reds, Cubs, Rox, Rangers, and maybe others may start wheeling and dealing early.

I agree with that. If a team like the Cubs falls flat on its face in the first month or two & doesn't expect to extend guys like Bryant and Baez, it would make sense to cut bait and get as much as possible.

The Pirates are a fascinating team to watch. Obviously starting from the bottom again but the Cherington-Shelton regime seems to be going about the rebuild in a different more proven way of doing it. While small budget teams can make it big (thanks you Rays and A's) year after year of Nut, the owner, would rather rake in bucks than please Pittsburgh fans. Yeah the Steelers and Pens are always great but Pittsburgh has a rich history and is a good baseball town. We hear you Roberto Clemente.

I do like Cherington and Shelton, but Nutting is a terrible owner and it's hard to be optimistic with him at the helm.

Can you identify a few obscure "out of nowhere" hitters that may have a huge fantasy impact in 2021?  Guys like K. Marte in 2019 or R. Arozarena last year, who had some upside, but hadn't truly arrived yet.  Players that might go from relative obscurity to really breaking through in 2021?

I continue to hold out hope for Franchy Cordero, even though he's not on my team

Connor, seer time for you: What team will surprise the most this season? What player will perform at unexpected levels?

Would it be a surprise if the Angels won the West? They're my pick.
2:46
And I don't know if it would necessarily be a major surprise, but I have Walker Buehler winning the NL Cy Young

Okay, I have to take off a bit early to handle the site. Thanks, everyone, and enjoy the games tonight and this weekend. Steve will be here next Friday to chat.
