How much more valuable is a starter than a reliever?
Connor Byrne
2:43
It obviously depends in part on the caliber of the starter and reliever (who wouldn't take someone like Josh Hader over a run-of-the-mill fifth starter, for instance?), but the gap has closed somewhat with more and more teams using openers and multi-inning relievers

When will Elvis leave the building(get released) in Oakland?
Connor Byrne

I don't know if the A's would be willing to release him, but Andrus has looked cooked for a few years. I really didn't like how they handled their middle infield in the offseason.

I know it's early, but if the Indians continue to scuffle, will they move Ramirez to restock the system

As of last month, they were interested in extending him, but if they're not in contention & don't think they'll be able to lock him up, it would make sense to at least listen to offers.
He's under extremely affordable control through 2023, so the offers would be sizable

If the White Sox do go after someone in LF, do you see it being a 4th OF level guy or someone who would still get a lot of playing time if Eloy comes back in August?

Let's say none of their current options step up. In that case, it would probably have to be a notable player. I don't think they can necessarily bank on Jimenez contributions this year. He may not be back until August-September, and that's assuming there won't be any setbacks.
hopefully his recovery goes well, but you never know

Do you know when mlbtr might release another state-of-the-site type article?
Connor Byrne

I don't. That's in Tim's hands.
That's going to have to do it for me. Time to go handle the site. Thanks for chatting, everyone, and have a nice weekend! Steve will take the reins next Friday.
