I think they should be shopping him to the high heavens and cashing in for more than they gave up. We've seen flashes like this from Bundy in the past, and it looks legitimate enough now as it did then. He still has the collapse possibility, but I think a team would give a legitimate return, which is more than the Angels really gave up to get him.

The Yankees always seem to aim to deepen the pitching staff. I expect they'll do the same. For the record, they're also a great fit for a guy like Austin Nola ... alternative to Sanchez, depth at 1B, 2B, 3B while LeMahieu and possibly Torres are hurt. Controllable, cheap, good hitter. Etc.

Basically, I really like Austin Nola and think everyone should be trying to trade for the dude, ha.

After watching the Phils - Red Sox game today, I think the Sox were auditioning Lin and it did not go well! How would a Didi, Bryson Stott + one or 2 prospects work for Boegerts? Who says no?

Didi holds no value to the Red Sox as a one-year rental, and Stott+2 random prospects is a nonstarter for Bogaerts, who is on one of the best contracts in baseball.

Also I don't really think teams audition guys these days; video info and scouting is so prevalent all over the place ... teams don't need a 1-2 game look at a player leading up to the deadline to "showcase" them. Every team has buckets of info and video available on pretty much every player -- even those who have yet to play in the big leagues

As I wrote in this week's Front Office column -- sign me up for a JDM/Vazquez-to-San Diego package. They could give the Sox some MLB-ready rotation placeholders (Lucchesi) and then add prospects from a deep farm system.

More broadly speaking, I'd like to see the Padres add a legitimate middle-of-the-order bat and a reliever or two since Yates looks done for the year and Pagan has struggled unexpectedly.
