Could see any of Brandon Lowe, Adam Frazier, Thairo Estrada, Otto Lopez, Xavier Edwards, Luis Urias, Curtis Mead, Nolan Gorman.

Lot of controllable names in there, but the Marlins will probably be willing to trade anyone other than other than Eury Perez and Agustin Ramirez, and guys like Mead and Gorman haven't established themselves despite multiple tries. Their organizations have alternative options.
Luis Rengifo, too, but he's having a brutal year

If the Tiger's don't resign Tarilk subal and decide to try him during the off-season what would the return look like???

Zero percent chance the Tigers listen on Skubal this winter.

I've seen a bunch of people ask about the Brewers trading Yelich, and I know with his contract it's not possible, but even if they found a taker should they? Could they really find a better bat for that money? 22 mil a year doesn't seem like top end of the market bat anyway. I guess the question is really is his contract actually underwater as much as people make it seem?

I know $4MM annually is deferred, but that money comes due eventually. I think it's fair to just call it $26MM per year. But whichever you prefer, it's more than Yelich would get on the open market for ages 34-36, particularly if he doesn't improve this year's production. He's hitting fine, but a 110 wRC+ DH and (very) occasional left fielder with a lengthy injury history is probably getting one year -- not three at a premium AAV.

Christian Walker just got 3/60 for those same ages, and he was coming off three straight seasons of better production with Gold Glove-caliber defense at first base.

what could the Mariners expect to get back from a Castillo trade at the deadline. Seems like his performance so far should have helped
Steve Adams

I know Castillo's name kept popping up in trade talks all winter, but we tried to downplay it as sufficiently as possible. I don't think he's going to be traded. He has a full no-trade clause. The Mariners are firm contenders. The rotation hasn't been nearly as healthy in 2025 as it was in 2024. I wouldn't spend much/any time contemplating what he'd fetch.

It's a lost, probably 90 loss season, and Davey Martinez is terrible at managing his bullpen, but would it be worth it for the Nats to try and get a guy like Bednar who's controllable next year and *much * better than Finnegan and everybody else in the Nats pen? This "rebuild can't continue indefinitely.

There's no sense giving up long-term prospects for a year-plus of Bednar when they're not contending for the first half of one of those seasons. If they want a better reliever, just wait until the offseason and sign someone then. Or I guess trade for someone, but if I'm a rebuilding team that's not out of the woods yet, the last thing I'm doing is trading legitimate young talent for a small window of control over a reliever.
Nolan Arenado
3:15
Are any of LAD, NYY, NYM, or PHL going to be interested in Arenado at the deadline? He's hitting better (115 OPS+ in June) and the defense is still stellar
Steve Adams

Any one of those teams would be required to pay a 110% tax on Arenado's already exorbitant salary. The contract is such a burden, particularly for luxury-tax teams. 68 good-not-great plate appearances in June isn't going to change that.
