Shelby Miller is doing some good stuff too, though he'll be 35 himself.

Oh and Robert Suarez, duh. If he's healthy he's opting out of his remaining two years and $16MM and might get something close to that $16MM on an annual basis. He'll also be 35, so it won't be too long term, but there's another higher-end arm in the mix

After injuries to Jacob Young and Dylan Crews, the Nats called up two rookies -- Robert Hassell and Daylen Lile. Both looked good and Young has simply not advanced as a batter. Do you see the Nats trying to trade Young at the deadline? If so, what trade value do you think he has? If not, what do you think the Nats will do with their surplus of outfielders?

Even after last year's showing, Young has seemed to me like a fourth outfielder. He can run and defend, obviously, but he needed a .320 BABIP last year just to get to .256/.316/.331. It's a bottom-of-the-barrel contact profile in terms of exit velocity, hard-hit rate, barrel rate, etc.

Young should still be on a big league roster, don't get me wrong, but I don't look at the Washington outfield as a surplus right now.

James Wood is a star in the making. I'm higher on Dylan Crews than most; he's hit pretty well since mid-April and is finishing his development off in the majors on the fly. You could argue he needed more Triple-A time, but he's been coming around of late anyhow.

None of Hassell, Lile or Young has proven that they're a long-term everyday option out there.

If some team really wants Jacob Young, sure I'd listen, because I don't think he's central to their long-term outlook, but I don't think the value is especially high, either.

We've seen lots of Jake Marisnick, Peter Bourjos, Craig Gentry types over the years -- elite glove, plus speed, short side of the platoon -- that's mostly how I view Young

Ok, I've got to wrap up for the week. Sorry for all the questions I couldn't get to this week! There will be another free chat with me on the site tomorrow. Anthony will chat on Friday with subscribers again.

I'm handling the Mailbag for one more week this week while Tim is away. That'll be published Wednesday. I'll send out a call for questions tomorrow, but you can reply to last week's email call for Mailbag questions or just send an email to membership@traderumors.com with "Mailbag question" in the subject line if you want to get a jump on that!

We try to get to as many questions as we can, but it's always tough, especially as deadline season gets closer and more people want to posit questions.

Thanks so much for supporting MLBTR. We are abundantly grateful for all of you. Enjoy your week, and Happy Roman Anthony Day to those who'll be observing! I certainly will be.
