Both? I like using Twitter's search tool for info
Alex

Would the proposed 26th roster spot be used for more platoon bats or relievers?
Travis Sawchik
12:29
Case by case, but I would suspect more relievers

Austin Hedges only has to be league average offensively to be a good catcher, right? Any chance his PCL explosion last year is partially real?
Travis Sawchik
12:30
Jeff wrote some interesting things about this very subject last week http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/austin-hedges-learned-how-to-hit/
If he's really learned how to hit, that's a valuable player

Should the Mets sign Wieters? I know d'Arnaud is there but last year had a down year
Travis Sawchik
12:32
I don't think Wieters wants to back-up anyone but we're seeing how teams are valuing framing. Wieters' other big problem is he just hasn't hit: 88 wRC+ last season
That 2009 PECOTA projection was a heart-breaker

The headline Noah Syndergaard wants to throw harder this year, while enticing to me as a Mets fan still gives me concern with those bone chips in the elbow. Am i being too much of a worry wart, or should I be pumped for more Thor Lightning this year?
Travis Sawchik
12:33
I read that, too, and had a similar thought. I don't think Thor needs to throw any harder. I'm planning a post on this very subject

Pirates key to winning wild card is Cutch bounce back or Pitching bounce back (Taillon, Glasnow, Cole, bullpen)
Travis Sawchik
12:33
Pitching

How vast is your knowledge of Roman numerals? Will you be able to continue numbering you chat at this time next year?
Travis Sawchik
12:34
My knowledge extends to X

12:36
Are you a fantasy baseball 'expert'?
Travis Sawchik
12:37
I play, I am interested, but I wouldn't say expert. I do not devote my time exclusively to the hobby

So, how badly did the Reds want to get rid of Phillips? They are eating the majority of his contract and trading him for a bag of baseballs. Where they concerned about him being a clubhouse issue with his reduced playing time?
Travis Sawchik
12:38
Reds have been trying to rid themselves of Phillips for some time. I think that says something beyond contract/production
Blue Morpho
12:39
What was the purpose of signing Eovaldi this year? Do the Rays have a special rehab program for him?
Travis Sawchik
12:39
They have a 2018 option, and maybe they can teach him a changeup
Hank
12:40
How do you see Bruce/Conforto situation playing out? Even if the Mets can't get rid of Bruce, what's the harm in starting Conforto instead if he's actually the better player?
Travis Sawchik
12:40
Conforto needs regular at-bats ... lot of upside there, according to Statcast
Justin
12:41
Over/under on Jean Segura's WAR this year being 3.5?
Travis Sawchik
12:41
Under. His 2016 was BABIP heavy

12:42
So, it seems like a lot of people love the Chris Carter signing, but, will he play? Greg Bird and Austin (I guess Austin could be sent down) at 1B, Holiday at DH and Carter will not touch the OF.
Travis Sawchik
12:43
Yankees have to figure that out but Carter will get his at-bats somehow/somewhere
Curtis
12:44
Who leads the Dodgers in HR this year?
Travis Sawchik
12:44
Turner with Grandal as a sleeper candidate

Wow just looked at Marlins system , very weak and not much to show from their average trades...... What type of career do you see Tim Anderson having? Do he stay at SS?
Travis Sawchik
12:47
Marlins obviously have some great young position players but with that system, along with the tragic death of Fernandez, it feels like their window is closing

Do we know enough about catcher defense now to say with some confidence how important each aspect (framing, blocking, throwing, and game calling) matters compared to the others? The recent emphasis on framing, both in the media and in the contracts given to strong framers compared to strong throwers, seems to suggest that the majority of of a catcher's defense value comes from there alone. Is that true, or is it being overemphasized since it's the latest fad?
Travis Sawchik
12:49
Arm could be becoming relatively undervalued, particularly the deterrence affect in the run the game. And if the gap between the good- and poor-framing teams continues (or we get robot umps) the premium on arms will go up

Bauer is only listed for 136 IP on the Indians' depth chart. Why so low?
Travis Sawchik
12:50
Even with the drone risk, that seems low ... since he's surpassed it each of the last three seasons. But you always have to build in injury and performance risk
JC
12:51
I've always thought of McCutchen as a sort of understated superstar, who perhaps had less flash than a lot of similarly-talented players. Last year I wondered if maybe he has an effort problem. What say you, having been around him?
Travis Sawchik
12:52
I don't think it was an effort problem
