Re: Extra Innings

Instead of putting a runner on 2nd or playing 17 innings, why not just play 12 and call it a tie?

2/3rds of all extra inning games end by the 11th meaning, there would be ~60 ties in the season or 4 per team.
Travis Sawchik
12:48
Yes! I'm all for ties

How long of a leash does Moran have right now? Feels like there's a lot of swing and miss at the moment.
Travis Sawchik
12:49
He should have a pretty long leash

Musgrove just hit DL :(       Will Searge work his magic on Musgrove eventually?   or move on...
Travis Sawchik
12:49
I think Musgrove is OK
12:50
But I guess it's something to keep an eye on
Musgrove was great in the bullpen last year ... curious to see him stay there, actually

Give up on Billy Hamilton?
Travis Sawchik
12:51
Hey, I tried to see Billy on an idea that would help him, Reds
It does feel like Hamilton could be of more help to a team with a larger outfield to cover, maybe the Reds should explore returns

Albies, Jose Ramirez and Lindor are killing me in my league!!! They're my AVG guys and they're hitting like .110 over 45 combined ABs!!! Tell me good things will happen soon

What are McMahon’s prospects for regular duty at Coors?  I have both him and CarGo competing for my UTIL slot. Which one has the more productive season?
Travis Sawchik
12:52
McMahon should get a long look this year
Rockies had major corner issues and did little to address them
Rockies were last or next to last in wRC+ at LF, RF and 1B last season, I believe

Trout is clearly the best player in baseball, but I find no one is more fun to watch hit than Correa, he just seems to be able to drive every pitch in every count
Travis Sawchik
12:53
'Fun' is subjective but I'm more of an Altuve guy
All the 5-foot-3 dynamo does is square up pitches with every swing
12:54
Buxton playing CF is fun. Lindor is always fun. Stanton going 117 mph opposite way is fun. ...

What if any of Kapler's foibles can be blamed on "analytics" and not just inexperience and making bad decisions?
Travis Sawchik
12:54
Is it clear how many of these decisions were scripted pre-game?

When will the Buccos turn to Tyler Glasnow as a SP?  His start in the bullpen simply a get your command in order kind of thing?
Travis Sawchik
12:55
He has to prove he can command the ball to some degree to return to rotation. If he could become a dominant reliever, that's not so bad

See Harper's HRs? One with leg kick one without?
Travis Sawchik
12:55
Harper ditched the leg-kick last season on occasion

Do you think it would be wise for the A's to make a few more rebuild trades this year to line up their window with all their TJ recoverees? Obviously Lowrie, but maybe Graveman, Treinent, and even maybe Manaea too (who could potentially bring back a lot with a strong first half and esp. considering next year is his first arb year)?
Travis Sawchik
12:56
Possibly. It's early. They could be competitive if enough things break right in 2018

Great in theory, not executed well in practice

In 2018 dollars, that would be $0.51 beer night
Man, that was a bad idea. Nevermind

You're getting carried away with the Stanton at YS3 stuff. Judge has considerably more power and wasn't "breaking his bat and hitting them out to RCF" there last season. Daren Wilman also took Stanton's flyballs from last season and found he would've hit the exact same number of HRs had he been playing at YS3.

Too many variables to extrapolate 2017 numbers to a difference ballpark
1:01
For starters, each ballpark has a different "atmosphere" and RCF can change batter incentives, approach, etc
