Are partial refunds available if I decide to give up a resident parking permit later on in the year?
Drew Watzke
9:14
It is strictly based on when students signed their housing contract.

What criteria other than housing deposit is being used to determine when you are offered a a parking pass?
Drew Watzke
9:14
Yes. You could still receive an offer after this date, and if you do you can always upgrade. But we want to make sure you have a permit for when you come to campus so that you have somewhere to park.

So if no offer by August 1 then they should buy student general or economy?
Drew Watzke

You can find it on this page under "Where to Park"

Are all of the options full time parking opportunities?
Drew Watzke

Green lots have to be vacated before games. That is where the general student permit lets you park.

We have a parking map on our website parking.uark.edu where you can view all lot types.

I heard that students would have to move their cars on game days.  Is that true? My incoming freshman's dorm is Walton.
Drew Watzke

Resident lots are a little closer to the residence halls, and garages are covered parking. Neither have to be vacated for game days.

Can you tell me the difference between resident and garage and student parking?
Drew Watzke
9:10
The main reason for the cost difference is proximity to the residence hall and the fact that you do not have to vacate for football/basketball games

Thank you for the pricing. There is a HUGE difference in cost between resident/garage parking and the general options. Is there that much of a difference regarding safety, convenience, etc?
Drew Watzke

All resident permit holders do not have to move out of their lot(s) for games

Do resident reserve permit holders for Gregson have to move their cars on game days?
Drew Watzke

Unfortunately, there is no resident parking option for those living at the Cardinal. If you do not receive parking at the Cardinal, your options would be to purchase a student general permit or an economy permit.

I am a freshman living in the Cardinal Apartments. I have already placed myself on the waitlist for a spot in the Cardinal parking garage and the Harmon garage, although I have been told not to expect a spot in Harmon for some time, maybe even this semester.
My question is: what does resident parking look like for my housing choice? I know others, like Hotz, have a resident parking lot. Is there a similar option for me? If not, should I go with the General Student Parking pass?
Drew Watzke
9:06
Parking offers will be for the parking closest to the student's residence hall. We figure that out for you so you don't have to!
Sophia

If you're in a specific dorm, can you get parking close to it? Which parking permit would that be?
Drew Watzke
9:05
General parking permits will not go on sale until July 28. At that point, our office will have created your parking portal account for you
Erin Anders

When and how do students who wish to purchase a general parking pass create their parking portal account?
Drew Watzke
9:04
Parking offers will be for the parking closest to the student's residence hall. We figure that out for you so you don't have to!

What is the best parking option for Gregson residents?
Drew Watzke
9:03
The student (general) permit and economy permit are both available if you do not receive an offer
Sophia
9:03
If you can't get a parking pass from this offer, what are your other options?
Drew Watzke
9:03
The email offer will only include convenient locations near the residence hall!
Jahnae Cherry

My son, Jake Cherry, will be a freshman on campus this fall. Once he receives an email invitation to purchase a parking pass, will there be choices? For instance, he will be living in Maple East, so where is the best and most convenient place for him to park?
Drew Watzke
9:02
Yesterday was the first day we started sending out offers. We will continue to send offers throughout the month of July
Sophia
9:02
Hi, what dates exactly should we be looking for, for when the permits get sent out? Are they already being sent out, or does it have a starting day?
Drew Watzke
9:02
There are four permit types for students. Each lets you park in a specific area of campus.

Resident - $781
Garage - $891
Student (general) - $120
Economy - $25

Prices are for both semesters
