Quick break now for a few minutes, then Preston will take us up to lunch next
11:12
(Sounds like he will do a little break in a bit before the next session before lunch break)
11:11
Yes Maggie and Lee were short on their time... so Preston is going a little longer than the schedule is showing.  We will still break for lunch about the same time, probably around Noon or so

GM it looks like the schedule has been modified or are they ahead of schedule or are they adding something else?

So on a Money Press, we look to sell puts at-the-money for that reason.  On a directional call, we like to buy in-the-money.  Hope that helps!
10:46
We always like to SELL options at-the-money.  That is where you'll find the most time value.  (selling an option time decay helps your cause, so selling more time value is more profit potential)   Buying an option (like a directional call) we usually look in-the-money to get a higher delta and where we aren't paying for as much time value that works against us as an option buyer

With MDB near the $474 area...

I'm selling next week's $475 puts, and
I'm buying the Jan 2022 $440 puts for the protection.

We sold next week's 277.5 put and bought the January 270 put

Could you tell me what the CRM trade w? Sorry I missed that part yesterday?

The likelihood of getting assigned goes up when the time value is gone in the sold option.  If there is still time value, the person exercising would be overpaying for that (which isn't going to happen) so we aren't at risk.  If you're in the money, and the time value is gone in the sold option, that is when you're more likely to get assigned.  If it happens with a sold call, you'd just be short the stock and you can buy to close to exit the position if it were to happen

getting back to my question about assignment on sold calls. I agree, it's not the end of the world when it happens (saw your video at SAMS), but I want to understand it a little better. For puts Brandon has studied it carefully and publishes the chart.  Is there anything different about the sold calls with regard to assignment policies of CBOE?  Sorry for beating so hard on it.  thanks KJ

Not that I'm aware of... I think she just tracks the count daily and uses it generally for all of her trading
Barry

Maggie mentioned Gamblers count, I know that on a DAILY basis - does she have one that she does for entry to the trades as she's patiently waited?

If you go to TradersEdgeNetwork.com, then go to Products & Services tab, you'll see more info about the Maggie Mastermind Project!

We don't do that often.  The only benefit would be you are taking some profits off the table, but as the long option goes further in the money the delta goes up and our profit potential increases.  (a .70 delta we are making more if the stock keeps moving compared to a .50 delta)

9:26
Would it ever make sense to roll the long up to get back to 50 delta as the price goes up?
Mentor Mike
9:25
Any time you sell an option you have that potential when it's in the money... but assignment doesn't happen frequently enough to spend much time worrying about it.
Kevin
9:23
is there the same risk of early assignment if the sold calls are several strikes ITM?
