As a Pirate fan, I find it hard to figure out whether or not to root for Glasnow.  It's not *his* fault he went from okay with the Pirates to very very good with the Rays, but he's sort of the encapsulation of the previous FO's issues.

I actually LOVE rooting for players who were traded away from my team (Cardinals)
When they succeed, it's super fun
Because I wanted them to succeed as prospects/young major leaguers
So I get to keep rooting for them
When they fail, who cares??

Maybe it's different when your own team has anything approaching success and every successful player traded away isn't a reminder that the last time your team won a playoff series was before you born... not that I'm bitter or anything

I'm a lifelong Red Sox fan. And I think Mookie has helped fully transition me to being 100% OK with actively rooting for a player on another team. Watched him play lots of minor league ball. Loved him from day one. I watched more Dodgers games than Red Sox games and didn't think twice about it. Hope it just comes and goes.

I'm a coward and bet on the Rays yesterday after betting on the Dodgers to win before the playoffs started. I come out ahead either way but also, yeah... I'm a coward.

As a Nats fan, I used to root against guys like Giolito because of our struggle with developing pitching and root for the other guys, now I root for them all after winning the WS
