The first chart in that link is relevant.

Don't forget about Griffey, guys (I agree it's Bonds there...but still)

Or Rodriguez

How much more Yarbrough do we think we’re seeing tonight?

Dave is on the pulse

Pollock so out of place on this team because he doesnt have the chase discipline.  Makes him frustrating to watch

Pollock's regular season was quite good, not just decent

The Dodgers have hit more home runs at this park than the Rangers have...

You know you have a good team when you can understandably lose A.J. Pollock in the shuffle
Mick

Was the relevant point that John McGraw was once the best player in baseball?

Seems like Rays are only super aggressive with the hook when they have the lead
AvatarDan Szymborski

It has the projected WAR leader for each season, which encompasses a variety of previous seasons!@
Brendan Gawlowski
9:28
They're definitely more aggressive in those situations. But they need to start taking chances.
Mike

Pollocks regular season was good just because he hit a bunch of dingers, even then he had an obvious hole flailing at the low away breaker
Brendan Gawlowski
9:28
To be fair to him, many people do
5 Run Homer

That chart is a fun read
Brendan Gawlowski
9:28
Yes, don't let that link get lost in the shuffle
Mike
9:29
And in the postseason he's just been eaten up in that hole and lacks the discipline to take it.  He's got like a 3.5% walkrate and the rest of the team like 15% this postseason

I read that shitty PA comment as an insult against Pennsylvania initially

That list is a who's who of inner circle Hall of Famers

Article is a fun read too, and I agree that we need to stop hitting players with proverbial buses

Didn't realize Wade Boggs was the best player in baseball for an extended period

Fire Ken Tremendous

According to that chart the title went from Boggs to Bonds. Only a two letter change was necessary!
5 Run Homer
9:31
Pretty much THE list
Mike
9:31
I think that chart is pretty accurate
That's fair, that's fair.  I think the postseason tests players ability to adapt as teams pound their scouting reports harder than usual.  It's a test many Dodgers failed in previous postseasons.  See Bellinger/Seager and the low inside curveball in 17 vs the Astros

My favorite Boggs fact is that he hit .335/.437/.460 with 89 walks and 47 K's as a 23 year old in Triple-A... and Boston never called him up that year.

What’s the fastest a guy has pitched throwing sidearm/submarine like Thompson? Or what’s the upper limit velocity at that arm angle?

Filing this away for a research project/article idea

1970s boston and the service time manipulation they didn't even know they were doing

Depends how high an arm slot we're talking.

Rays will have somebody throwing 101 fully underhand by 2022

I want to know if the deception effect of a weird arm angle can be quantified
