BTW, I wasn't suggesting that you were subscribing to that binary at all Chatz

Walk Arozarena.  Give him the Bonds treatment
Roach
10:50
Jansen is either in garbage time (either the Dodgers or the Rays have what seems like an insurmountable lead) or extra innings.
Paul Sporer
10:50
Arozarena has been markedly better vR in the post

This feels risky in the sense that I have no idea how they'd fill 9 innings tomorrow without Urias if they lose.
Tony Wolfe
10:50
with a day off yesterday, I'm not all that worried about that
Remaerdbob
10:51
Smoltz actually hasn't been too bad as far as his criticism of the analytics-based pitching decisions in this game.
Dave
10:51
You can't walk the leadoff guy (with decent speed especially)
Dodger Fan

Strategy: just don't lose

Roberts said that Urias, Buehler, and Kershaw were unavailable today (fwiw)

Interesting re: Urias

former starter joe kelly is ready to eat innings
I am rooting for Game7
10:51
the Snell pull, I would not have done, but at least it's analytically defensible from a 3rd time penalty. But to sub in Anderson, who'd been getting rocked all postseason?
Kiermaier's Piercing Green Eyes
10:52
Jansen blowing a lead would be amazing, everyone would forget about Kevin Cash.
I am rooting for Game7
10:52
can lolDodgers be the playoff equivalent of lolmets?
Joe Kelly

“Can we score some more runs so I can come in and hit someone for manufactured drama? This WS has been far too tame”

Fairbanks is the guy I expected them to put in after snell, not Anderson
Paul Sporer
10:52
Same
Sonny
10:52
Fairbanks has big: ‘I thought that was due next week’ energy and it stresses me out
Paul Sporer
10:53
Think Tony eyed Fairbanks as his #1 RP, too
Dave
10:53
Fairbanks looking like a deer in headlights makes me feel nervous, and I'm rooting for the dodgers

Fairbanks always looks like that

Kevin Cash definitely fell victim to a pre-conceived plan and not being able to shift with the moment. The blueprint would be to pull Snell around 5, but the blueprint also didn't have him blowing the Dodgers away like this. Bottom line is, the guy who had the best shot of getting the next guy out, was the guy already on the mound - Kevin Cash probably knew that, but gave in anyway.

NO KERSHAW TODAY!!!
Antonio Lobo
10:54
#1 feeling of relief tonight:  Snell getting pulled.  #2 feeling of relief: seeing that Phillips has been subbed out of the game.  No airplane heroics tonight!
Tony Wolfe
10:55
being two pitches behind and trying to keep up with the chat queue is stressful
keep seeing like six "OH GOD NO"s in a row and being like "welp, guess we'll see what that's about"
Paul Sporer

I'm still not sure why internet streaming is markedly slower than cable

10:55
you have legit options in Urias and Treinen... no need for Kershaw tonight please.
CJ
10:55
You have TONS of lefties. WHY IS KERSHAW WARMING UP???
Dave
10:57
The only question here is whether Urias is the right guy to pitch to Randy
Watching 2 of the most analytically inclined teams compete for the title, and still not sure if analytics work in the post season... priceless
Dodger Fan

No guy is the right guy to pitch to Randy

Bad framing on the 0-0 pitch
