The Titanic sank April 15, 1912, any survivor would be at least 108 now. While there are people that old, they're pretty rare. In fact the last survivor of Titanic was Millvina Dean who was two months old at the time of the sinking, and she died in 2009, age 97.

After visiting the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean in August 2005, scientists have discovered that Titanic took just five minutes to sink – much faster than previously thought

When the ship hit the iceberg, they believe these rivets popped off, effectively “unzipping" the hull at the seams. The holes created in the ship's hull allowed six compartments to flood, causing the allegedly “unsinkable" ship to not only sink, but to do so quickly.

It's Jack and Rose's movie, but a lot of the people they meet had their own incredible stories. You probably already knew that Jack and Rose, the main characters in the 1997 movie Titanic, weren't real. Like all films “based on a true story,” the movie added its own fictional elements to historical events
