It's a measure of distance, Ivana. The yellow stick I use to underline the date in class is a metre long and the numbers on your ruler are centimetres - 100 of those make 1 metre

So remember that you can multiply the 5.1 by 10 and carry out a long multiplication. Once you've got an answer divide it by 10
