You will receive an I20 once your application is admitted. It should arrive in the mail and once you receive it, you'll need to then apply for an F-1 student visa. You can arrive 30 days before and stay up to 30 days after.

@Elvin - we have many visiting international students, and many of them are Chinese. Most of our students are Yale College students.

The courses are referred to as "credit" courses. Will these transfer to other colleges, or just count toward undergrad at Yale?

Hi Tim. You will receive Yale credit for those courses, but it is up to your home institution to determine whether Yale credit will transfer.

Unfortunately, the rooms will be in use for another session, so you may not move in before June 30 and in order to get the rooms ready for the fall, the last day you may remain in them is 9am on August 3rd. Sorry.

You are not required to bring a laptop or iPad, but it may be helpful. There are computer labs on campus that you can use as well.

Is it available to transfer to Yale Young Global Scholar Program?

Hi Elvin. Yale Young Global Scholars is a separate program from Yale Summer Session. Those programs do not award Yale credit and the application deadline for summer 2019 has already passed.

what is the deadline of pay for the course and housing ? and can i get a single room?

The payment deadline is 2 weeks before your program start date. Single rooms are generally reserved for students who have a medical need for a single. Let us know your needs in the application.

You may email summer.session@yale.edu and request that the syllabi be sent to you. Instructors are developing the syllabi now, so it's possible they won't be available until a few weeks before the first day of class, however.
