Fangraphs After Dark.
Derek
10:19
This at-bat counts as a "battle" I think
sadtrombone

I also faced a guy with legit majors heat as an adolescent and I basically never played baseball again.
The guy in front of me got beaned by a 95 MPH fastball and I was in the on-deck circle.

Brendan, who was the better WA high school pitcher, Blake Snell or you? And who is the best active player from WA?
Brendan Gawlowski
10:19
Blake Snell and Blake Snell
AvatarDan Szymborski
10:19
Did you leave while on-deck?
Derek
10:20
WOW
5 Run Homer
10:20
That was cool as fuck
Derek
10:20
That is some pretty sweet postseason baseball
Lzfreak
10:20
Oh no they killed the rally!
Brendan Gawlowski
10:20
After what happened earlier this year, that's awesome
5 Run Homer
10:21
what is a Michael Brosseau
Shiiiiiiiin Gojira!
10:22
If I were on the Rays, I would be the taunting the Yankees with a British accent
tommytoms
10:22
the cardboard cutouts don't seem very excited
David
10:22
Heck of an AB there against Chapman
bosoxforlife
10:22
MIke Brosseau, seven years in the minors but the Rays know talent and find it in the strangest places.
5 Run Homer
10:22
Why is Chapman getting hit always the coolest thing I’ve ever seen
Derek
10:23
Should have kept it tied though to avoid the odd-run lead
Brendan Gawlowski
10:23
Still the weirdest damn thing I've heard on a broadcast
cg
10:23
biggest karma home run in history
Brendan Gawlowski
10:23
What else would be close?
Erik
10:23
What is the theoretical limit of percentage of runs scored off of homers that you would still enjoy and recognize as baseball?
bosoxforlife
10:24
That is Morton and Snell in the pen. Who comes in?
Brendan Gawlowski
10:24
I don't think we're there, but in 2019 we hit the point on the curve where I think the prevalence of dingers made the game noticeably worse
sadtrombone
10:24
I was actually about type something in response to Brendan's thing about facing Chapman, like "he has given up a lot of homers this year, it's weird, probably just a fluke" and then...this.
Brendan Gawlowski
10:24
Could still be a fluke!
10:25
And of course that probably dies on the front of the track if he hits it with a 2018 ball
Oddball Herrera
10:25
It's not homers that kills the game, it's homers + strikeouts
Brendan Gawlowski
10:25
They are intertwined
This kind of HR rate without the strikeouts would also be bad
Eel Ffilc
10:25
My forearm would have certainly snapped in half had I celebrated like that with Yandy
5 Run Homer
10:26
What’s the history between Chapman and Brosseau? I’m out of the loop
Brendan Gawlowski
10:26
Chapman missed his head with 101 by two inches earlier this season
bosoxforlife
10:26
Erik, I love your question. I still can't stop watching even after 70+ years but I enjoyed the actual game more when there were far fewer strikeouts, along with a lot of hit and runs which have disappeared.
Brendan Gawlowski
10:27
Of course! It's still great, and some people really enjoy the extra dingers. It's not my preferred way to see the game played, but let's not get crazy

Wish tbs had shown a shot of those Yankees fans in that condo they kept showing earlier
