Can you tell me more about Bramall Scholarships?
Guest

Do you have specific course based scholarships?
H
4:07
How are applicants shortlisted for the scholarship?
Daniel Bond

Hi F, these are part of our scholarship offer and are only for students that have come via RfE.  You apply online as with all scholarships, just make sure you say you are part of the RfE programme so we can identify you.

Hi Guest, some of our scholarships are for students on certain courses.  This is dependent on certain criteria.   You don't need to worry about this though, just apply as normal.  There are some other course specific ones, which you can see here: http://www.leeds.ac.uk/info/130533/scholarships__academic_achievement/...

It's been so long since we've seen you all! How is Y13 going?
Daniel Bond
4:11
Hi H, applications are shortlisted based on criteria outlined on our web page and the information provided by the applicant.

is the scholarship given on a first come first serve basis?
AvatarShauni
4:12
Hi A, it's not first come first serve, just make sure you apply by the deadline of 12noon on Friday 17th May. You'll be informed whether you've been successful in early August!

it's going tough
Daniel Bond
4:13
Hi again H, when selecting scholarship recipients our short-listing takes into account a range of indicators which may show that an applicant is from a less-advantaged background
Being on RfE stands you in good stead, but is not a guarantee of a scholarship.

Not long left now until you'll have finished college and graduate from RfE! Haaroon will be inviting you all to a big celebration event soon :)

4:14
Thanks, also i was wondering how many are usually given out?
Daniel Bond
4:14
Hi H, this year we allocated around 130 scholarships
Guest
4:15
around how many applicants are there usually?
Daniel Bond
4:16
Hi Guest, this year we had just under 900 applications.  Don't let this put you off though as many applicants may not end up attending Leeds or not meet the criteria, and as mentioned earlier, being on RfE is beneficial in your application

do you have to complete a written statement for the scholarship? like a personal statement or something
Daniel Bond
4:32
Hi Ruby, you are given the option to provide a statement in the application form to provide further details on the information you have provided.  It is not essential, but it does help - we recommend it.
