Hello everyone! Myself and the lovely Shauni are here today to answer any questions you might have about ‘Where You’re Up To’ at this stage of Year 13.

If you need anything clarifying, or you’re a bit unsure about something, then this is the place to ask!

AvatarShauni

Hi everyone! Can't wait to catch up with where you're all up to :)
AvatarMolly
4:01
Hey @za, you can apply for Student Finance from now!
Sammy
4:02
6 weeks left till A levels I'm scared lol
AvatarShauni
4:03
@Sammy not long but you're nearly there! And then you'll get a nice long summer afterwards :)
AvatarMolly
4:03
@za you should be doing this application as soon as you can really, even if you're not sure which uni you'll be going to, as they need at least 6 weeks to process your application!

Hi, if I'm are doing a deferred entry when would I apply for Student finance and accomidation?
KA
4:03
4 weeks for me 😭
AvatarShauni
4:04
@KA oooo I think we might be starting a competition here - maybe yours will be over sooner?
AvatarMolly
4:04
HI @Guest if you're applying for deferred entry then you'd apply for both of these things in the year you'll be starting uni.

Is the tannery good
AvatarMolly
4:05
@Guest I applied for standard entry but deferred my place on results day, so I'd already applied for accommodation and student finance when I made the decision. The university sorted my accommodation deferral, and I just had to let SFE know that I'd be taking a year out.

when should we be starting to do past papers? is now too late?
AvatarShauni
4:06
@Matthew hello! It depends what sort of Halls you're looking for. This one is a little bit closer to town than some of the other halls, but also a little further away from the 'student area' of Hyde Park/Headingley - a lot of people tend to move here anyway in their 2nd/3rd years. I stayed in Lupton and it was very basic/cheap but really sociable. Molly was in Central Village which is very close/convenient but a bit pricier!

Hello everyone :)

Hello @FR :) I know those initials! How are things with you?
AvatarMolly
4:08
@India it's never too late! You should be doing past papers to consolidate and test your knowledge. They're a really good way to check for gaps in your revision where you can go back over the material, but they also get you used to exam conditions and the style of questions. I'd say you should be starting on past papers now without exam conditions, and then moving towards timed practice as you move closer to exams.

Hi, I'm doing the access to leeds modules where we do 15 multiple choice questions and I'm woundering if we don't get 100% after three atempts, does it mean we will lose our access to leeds offer?
AvatarMolly
4:10
Hi @Sourour, this is a question for the Access to Leeds team! Their email is accesstoleeds@leeds.ac.uk so I'd recommend getting in touch with them and they should be able to clarify.

@imi - hello! It's meant to push you and  be a bit of a challenge, but it will also prepare you for university study! There's plenty of support available from the A2L team and they really want you to pass, you just need to give it your best attempt!

Hahahaha I’m glad you recognised me :,). I am doing great! I have like 25 days until my first exams but thankfully I am feeling pretty prepared for my exams. I just want to do as good as I can and hopefully get into the university of Leeds.

Thank you so so much. I would love to become a student host if I study at Leeds. It would be really exciting as there are so many fun activities.
