Floating down the vast Amazon river we can hear the squawking of the parrots in the canopy. The humid heat touches your skin and the neon sun blinded our surprised eyes.

Then a capoochan swung down and tried to steal my book but I didn’t let go so he screamed at me and let go.

Green waves swished by gently swaying the boat side to side causing the girl to be seasick.

I like your openers and some of your vocabulary in this sentence but could you have used a more fitting word than dappled to describe the parrots?

As I held my book tight I looked around me at the glistening river thinking of what was up ahead then our boat crashed into something I looked over to check what it was my heart was racing but It was just a log but then strangely the log moved it wasn’t a log it was a..alligator.

Looking at the mesmerising water, I suddenly started to follow it which lead me up to a whole new world. Listening to the glorious squawking and chirping creatures, I gazed into space.
