In New Haven, you should take a taxi or Uber from Union Train station. There is also a Yale Shuttle bus, but look up the shuttle times in advance. Taxi or Uber might be most convenient. In New York City, yes, once you go down into the subway, you'd need to buy a pass from a machine. I'm not sure about bus in New York City. I use the subway.

I am planning on arriving to New haven by train to union station. For the road to the campus from the train station, what should I use? Bus, walking etc.? And if I need to use a bus or a subway in NYC is there a public transportation card that I need to buy? Thank you!

This is correct.  Many students have class on July 3.  This depends on the courses you are taking.

Is the following understanding correct?
July 2.
When I arrive at the Yale campus, I check in to my housing at the Cross Campus at 450 College St., pick up my ID card, and move to my room.
After that, we will probably have dinner and then go through orientation.
July 4.
Classes begin.
July 3
Do most students use this day to shop for things we need for dorm life and classes and to prepare for classes, or are there any other events?

We have lots of activities every day and every weekend for students living on campus.  Many are free or low cost.  There is also a lecture series from Yale faculty.  All are welcome!

Are there any workshops on campus so we can get something to do when there’s no classes? And are there any prerequisites or restrictions?

Phelps Gate is the option for Yale College in downtown New Haven. You can look at google maps to see where to walk from Phelps Gate to the housing check in location.

Yes indeed Phelps gate is an option, and there are lots of other options such as nursing school and divinity school.

No, we do not take students' country of origin into account when we are assigning roommates. We want students to meet students from around the world and build friendships with each other!

About the dorm, the school will arrange our roommate by region? (i see you mentioned before the arrangement is based on gender and age) Since i think the region is more important ( whether the campus will arrange the roommate who are from the same continent (Asia, North America and so on.) or country?)

If you are living on campus, you'll have a full meal plan, so technically you won't need to order food, but there are many wonderful restaurants with all types of cuisine in New Haven that you may order from. You'd need to pay for it on your own.

Is Phelps Gate an option? What are the options?

Hi, for the shuttle bus, may I know which school will be the best to drop off at? Because there are many options on the booking page. Thanks!

There may be a few local trips planned for the Law Seminar as part of the courses, and there is a trip to the Yale Outdoor Education Center.  Law Seminar students may participate in any of the activities offered in the residential program.

i’ll attend Law Seminar are there travel experiences planned for this course?
AvatarKathy Trputec
12:13
Of course! We have shopping malls, outlets, and regular stores nearby. Some are within walking distance, so require transportation. There might be an arranged trip, or you can get there yourself. Look things up ahead of time so you can plan!
Guest

Are there any shopping malls or shops nearby that we can go to during the weekdays as well?
Meg Palladino
12:12
You are allowed to come and go from campus as you wish.  Minors (under 18) have a curfew and must be back on campus before 11:00 pm Sunday-Thursday and 1:00 am Friday and Saturday nights.

Are we allowed to quit the University to go somewhere ?
AvatarKathy Trputec
12:11
If you are living on campus, we have a residentail staff that plans trips and activities for students living in the dorms. Some are free, and some have a cost. They are all really fun though!

We don't have great mental health support in the summer.  Please check with your health insurance and find a mental health provider if you feel that you will need support beyond a friendly residential counselor or a nice dog.

will there be any support for anxiety or depression, for example an emotional guidance team?

Dear Officer,

The Chinese Huikao is mandatory, and is organized and scheduled by our city's educational bureau. That is, it is neither possible for me to negotiate with my school, nor could be deferred since it has direct relationship with whether I could be granted the graduation diploma on time. The examination will be ended up on July 4 (China time), and I could arrive at the US by air as soon as I finish my examination (the plane ticket has already been arranged). According to my course schedule, there is only one course would be missed, so I believe the negative impact will be very slight for me. I bet your officer could notice my eagerness of being an in-campus student, so would you please recommend me how to apply for late arrival? Thank you very much!

For the immunization, if the immunization shows verified, does it mean we don’t need to do something further? The immunization team doesn’t reply my email so I am a bit worried
