Utley with a couple hits today-- is he a legitimate comeback player of the year candidate?
Owen Watson
9:14
Nah, no.
Adam
9:14
Do you prefer bullpens in foul territory or behind the outfield?
Owen Watson
9:14
I love the Coliseum for how crappy it is, but this isn't really one of the reasons. Stopping the game to get balls bullpen guys have thrown into the outfield? Not really that charming.

Can we come up with a cool nickname for Tampa's two Logan's? Batted them back to back in both games so far.
Owen Watson
9:15
Logan FoMo
BK

Watching the Jays last year Hendricks was filthy. Also has great command. Hated that trade.
Bork
9:16
Saunders a darkhorse for comeback player of the year?
Owen Watson
9:16
Maybe, if he can stay on the field!
Woo baseball

If they let Belt walk after giving huge money to Pagan, Scutaro, Huff, Cain, Lincecum, Samardzija, and offering Sandoval $90MM+...
Ryan
9:16
Who wins tonight's Trout vs. Arrieta matchup?
Owen Watson
9:16
Trout always wins
Greg
9:17
Outside looking in but I can't identify with many homegrown SF hitters other than Belt. Maybe they keep him for PR issues if they care out that way.
Owen Watson
9:17
Really? I think their hitter development (at least for power) is some of the best. Crawford, Duffy, Panik (maybe)...
Brett Lawrie's Empty Redbull Can
9:17
I vote Rich Hill for the Drew Hutchison award...

How has the United States put a man on the moon but not figured out a translucent surface that's a workable ceiling for domed stadiums?
Owen Watson
9:19
You would think this would've happened to allow actual grass to grow, right?
Michael
9:19
LoMo and Lobrist?
paddy padre
9:19
Do my Padres have some underrated potential to be worse then braves Phillies brewers and reds this year as the worst team in the nl this year? Bad players all over the field with no youth and or exciting players ?
Owen Watson
9:19
They are going to have to be really, really bad to beat the Braves.
9:20
So no, I don't really think so

You catch much of Smyly today? Thought he looked decent despite crummy results
Owen Watson
9:21
Only a little. Laggy and chatting takes up a lot of attention, but he looked solid with really good life in the first couple frames.
Opening up against the Jays is a pretty tough matchup.
Lyle

Does Posey not exist in your world
Owen Watson
9:22
Who iz Posey
Bork
9:22
What's to stop teams from walking Trout every at bat? And don't say Pujols.
Owen Watson
9:22
I wonder this about many hitters.
Ryan
9:23
Logan Nickname: Should be either "MoFo" or "Wolverine"
Owen Watson
9:23
Hubris?
BK
9:25
I'm using the Marlins in my MLB the show franchise this year, Bonds is definitely getting created and becoming a player-hitting coach
Owen Watson
9:25
I just got this as well, which I need to be careful with...
John
9:25
Sad Kershaw walking back to the dugout after striking out makes me think he finally understands what he's been doing to hitters for all these years
Dave
9:25
I loved going to an A's game. Cheap seats 6 rows back. Relatively affordable drinks including margaritas. Beautiful weather, and a short train ride to evening drinks on the lake.
Owen Watson
9:26
Everyone hates on the Coliseum, but I think it's a really pleasant place to watch a game. The seating sections fan out really gradually, the views tend to be really great, and it's cheap.
BK
9:27
Seemed like Smyly was missing his spots (based on the catchers glove). Stuff looked good though
Owen Watson
9:27
I thought the same about Archer yesterday. Tons of hangers, but the stuff was great
Michael
9:27
Be honest. If you were a 2 WAR player would you feel less annoyed about losing your job to a 3 WAR player who plays the game the right way or a 5 WAR bat tosser?
Owen Watson
9:28
I love 5 WAR bat tossers, so I will never by annoyed by them
