This is a good one^

11:23
Wow, this chat is still going on? God bless baseball (and Fangraphs)
JC
11:23
Gerrit Cole, yikes. And his diminishing K-rate, yikes.
Eric A Longenhagen
11:23
Was at least throwing really hard today. He unraveled after Sandy Leon bunted his way on against the shift.
11:24
Cole was staring into the dugout after that. Not a good look for those who Trust the Process.
Casey
11:25
I've been here since about 1230pm, this chat has been a blast!
Eric A Longenhagen
11:25
Muy bien
Yoshimitsu
11:25
I always lumped Ronny Rodriguez and Doryss Paulino together. Are either of them still on the radar?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:26
Paulino is on the fringes, he made the honorable mention section of the list: http://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/top-18-prospects-cleveland-indians/
11:27
Rodriguez is stuck in Triple-A, posting OBPs around .300 but playing all over the place.
Graveman went 2-0 on Calhoun with Escobar at 2B and Trout on deck. Worked back to 2-2 and got a fly out to end the inning.
11:28
Graveman still sitting 93-94 with sink. I wonder if it plays down because of his slot. Are his splits crazy?
Da Bum
11:28
Which prospect in your top 50 do you think is most at risk of dropping off this season? Hitter and pitcher.
Eric A Longenhagen
11:28
Good question.
11:30
Jorge Mateo feels volatile
And I'm concerned about the direction Jeff Hoffman has gone in.
Yoshimitsu
11:30
Giolito?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:31
Nah, we're all sticking with Giolito a while yet, I think.
11:32
Jed Lowrie leadoff single on 3-1 fastball, piped. Plouffe, Alonso, Semien next three for Oakland.
Dr Morris
11:33
Adeiny Hechevarria got 541 PA last year and slashed .238/.283/.311. That's a 56 wRC+ -- and he posted an identical 56 wRC+ in 578 PA in 2013.
Eric A Longenhagen
11:33
Another popular answer for the "worst hitter among regulars" question
11:34
Yonder Alonso rbi single to CF. Tied at 2.
Nolasco is locating, got squeezed a bit in Lowrie AB, good piece of hitting by Alonso on heater on the black, away.
Dungeon Master
11:36
Eric, Jose Ramirez big surprise last year and HR on opening day. What changed since prospect days? What's his future like?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:36
I think people looked at his measureables and thought him small. But he's not, he's just short. So maybe people undersold the power.
11:37
Largely, and I know this is a dubious distinction, but Ramirez is also one of those intangible, confidence and feel for baseball guys who just outplay their physical tools.
Ramirez was in the big leagues already at 21, back in 2013.
11:38
In the middle of a playoff race in September, too.
RN
11:39
Comment on that throw by Trout?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:39
Would refer you to the tool grades posted above.
Bassitt of Deplorables
11:39
The talk of Barreto as a potential star seems to have cooled a bit, think he can still get there or will his power, contact keep him at 'pretty good'?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:39
I still believe in the bat but think he made need to move to CF. Actions were bad in the AFL.
John
11:40
What is your philosophy on pushing prospects? Do you think guys are better off getting a bit exposed by a higher level? Or should teams let guys get some seasoning and dominate a level before getting promoted?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:40
I'd push guys who have worked hard, produced results, and who I thought could deal with failure.
11:41
All three, not just one of them.
Cheetos
11:41
Who's a better speculative add for keep forever OBP Amed Rosario or Gleyber?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:41
This is one of several 'Gleyber or Amed" questions in the queue. I'd refer you to the top 100 article.
Matt
11:42
top 5 hitter in baseball only a 70? do non measured Plate displince vault him up or just higher standards for an 80
Eric A Longenhagen
11:42
The former. Hit tool is just bat to ball skills, only.
11:43
The 356 of you still here are nuts.
