The A's have a Shibe Park restaurant in the ballpark now? I am offended.

Running grab from Rajai Davis on the warning track.
Ryan Dull is warming in the Oakland bullpen. Graveman up near the century mark on pitches.

I could see that thanks for answering. Considering you seem to measure 4-5 players with an 80 hit how many players have 80 game power? Stanton and?
Eric A Longenhagen
Krombopulos Michael
11:48
if hit tool is bat to ball skills only does Cano get an 80?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:48
I wouldn't argue with you.

Just another one of many hip styles available at Darko Milicic's Follicle Emporium

Where do you stand on the jump in homeruns? Juiced ball, players swinging up, change in instruction, adjusting to the shift, all of the above?
Eric A Longenhagen
11:53
Some combination of randomness, batted ball data putting emphasis on certain batted ball profiles, and batted ball data allowing 'worse' defensive players to play the middle infield spots, players with more power but less range than if we weren't positioning fielders as efficiently as we are now.
11:54
Nolasco mixing in his breaking balls more often now. Just screwed with Healy's timing with a low-70s curveball, than came back with a slider away, then spotted his fastball on the corner.
Longenhagen time out for beverage acquisition
11:56
Khris Davis homered, beverage acquired.

Do you have any announcers that you cannot stand listening to? My dad gets HEATED when he hears Tim McCarver's voice
Eric A Longenhagen
11:57
I listened to an announcer say a player should fire his agent today.
11:58
There are guys that rub me the wrong way with the way they criticize players.
And it's not that they're critical, just a specific way.
The tone of which I don't have the words for right now.

Graveman threw 93 sinkers tonight out of his 104 total

Angels 'pen warming quickly after Nolasco gives up another baserunner, then goes 3-1 to Lowrie. He's at 86 pitches

What do you think about the Braves jumping Fried, Allard, and Soroka over high A?
*** Tuesday, April 4 ***
Eric A Longenhagen
12:00
I know for sure but I think they just had a roster crunch at Hi-A with all the arms and picked the ones they thought could best compete in Double-A. I think it says a lot about how the Braves view those guys.
12:01
Also remember Fried was a little old for the level last year because of TJ
12:03
Nolasco is done.
A's up 3-2 with the bags full.

12:03
You mention efficiency in shifting players, but the top 10 teams to shift last year all missed the playoffs. Are teams starting to adjust to shifting now. Hell Sandy had a bunt single today.
Eric A Longenhagen
12:04
What if those 10 teams shifted the most because they played the teams with shift-worthy hitters more often than others, and those hitters are also the best hitters which is why shifting teams records look bad?
When I was working at BIS, teams that we tracked as shifting the most were the ones that saw Boston the most.
12:05
It wasn't so much about the team's style of play, but a number dictated by the teams they were playing against.
But I agree that players and teams are starting to make adjustments in the metagame.
Matt
12:06
How much MLB do you watch versus MiLB?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:07
Depends on how you count certain things. Just on time it's probably 5:1 milb and draft stuff to MLB ratio.
12:08
But on games it's more than that. Especially because of spring training back field stuff. I was in three places last Friday but saw got eyes on 7 different games that day.
12:09
Yonder Alonso flyout to right on a 3-2 breaking ball from Alvarez. No damage caused by Nolasco's fatigued inning. Still 3-2 Oakland.

12:09
Do you think Matt Chapman can hit enough to stick around, or is he Matt Dominguez 2.0?
Eric A Longenhagen
12:09
More power than Dominguez but I'd be lying if his name isn't lurking in the back of my mind when I watch Chapman.
