Is that a report or a prediction on Groshans, Kiley?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:21
report
8:22
and a good one!
Not Finnigan
8:23
Tell me about Groshans. Underslot?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:23
If you squint it looks like a young Donaldson, but a long road to turn into that guy, some contact risk with the hitting mechanics geared for power
Taco
8:23
G-Rod underslot guy like Weathers?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:24
Has to be, as of a few days ago sounded like he could go in the 20's or 30's
Craig
8:25
Wouldn't you say this draft has been unusually unpredictable? Picks 9-12 in particular?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:25
Nah, this is about right
Levi
8:26
I saw the latest mock had Seth Beer to the Red Sox at 26, but he's your 64th overall player. Wouldn't he be a bit of a reach? How far will Singer, Kowar, Gilbert fall?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:27
We'd consider it a bit of a reach but think he goes in the first round. The college pitching dominoes are definitely falling and someone is going to get good value late.
Taco
8:28
Juan Pierre representing Miami.. Edwards it is
Ryan
8:28
Eric, WTF is happening?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:28
I'm trying to figure out what's up with Libby and Gorman...
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:29
Hey we got one right I'm out of the fetal position
8:30
Logan Gilbert coming here to SEA
Guest
8:30
HS pitcher for SF at 45?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:31
confirmed Logan Gilbert here
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:31
They were trying to float some HS players but there's too much money between here and there, so I'm sure they don't know who they're getting. Sean Hjelle makes sense if they play it straight
Rob
8:33
Pads must love Weathers' makeup, think he can be more than a 3?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:33
He isn't the same kind of pitcher as Kolby Allard in terms of size/delivery/type of stuff, but I think think it'll be a similar path where Weathers gets there fast without plus stuff but everything is above average and he performs, projects as a #3/4

Tell us M's fans about Gilbert? How soon could he be in MLB, what rotation spot is his perceived ceiling? Quality of secondary offerings?
Eric A Longenhagen
Would say that he was worked hard this year and with more careful workload management I think he's a 91-95mph guy consistently.

Bo Jackson just ate Harold Reynolds soul.

Why would the Mariners pick Gilbert over Singer?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:38
They focus on deliveries more than usual and more than a few teams wouldn't take Singer for that reason, liked GIlbert for that reasons

Think the Rays or Royals are responsible for pushing Liberatore down the board with promises of a bigger bonus?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:40
Trying to figure out Gorman/Liberatore's slide and what KC/TB are doing with their first picks
8:42
Hearing Liberatore will go 16 to TB, Adams or Singer to Angels at 17
Eric A Longenhagen
8:44
Jordyn Adams at 17
Kiermaier's Piercing Green Eyes
8:45
Great news for Rays fans, right?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:45
Yep.
What a system
Seth
8:48
Probably a dumb question, but how do these players have the team hat already? Especially those at home. Like Liberatore was expected to go early so how does he have a Rays hat?
Eric A Longenhagen
8:49
Sometimes those are just laying around and other times the advisor buys like 30 hats, nbd
GregLPDX
8:49
Are there money issues with Liberatore falling this far or do the Rays have enough high picks to shuffle money around and make it work?
AvatarKiley McDaniel
8:49
Have to have promised him well overslot a while ago so he could price himself appropriately for awhile and scare teams off. You can't seem signable then change last minute and fool teams
Mike
8:49
Gorman to KC then?
