Agreed - BIG THANKS to Bits Bats and Fits for the live chatting!
Biff

at the very least, he's young
Next Coach

thanks for your work....good night sweet prince

10:32
Oh nice! Very encouraging! "With hard work, he will be average!"
Adam Bittner
10:34
Franklin-Myers, the top comp for Leal, received a PFF grade of 80.3 in 2021. Granted, it was his third season. But he's been on a nice upward trajectory. 63.8 as a rookie and 71.5 in 2020.

I trust the Steelers when it comes to Dl evaluations.
Professor Blackengold
10:34
Steelers continue to disrespect the classic NT player for the D line. This has been a problem since THE BIG SNACK retired and upper management is in denial.  Tsk tsk

10:34
Should have traded up for Jones. Wouldn’t have cost much to move up 8 picks or so in 3rd round. Hope I’m wrong but……. Good night fellow die hards!  Logging off

10:35
Leak was #8 in college. Will he get to keep it
Adam Bittner
10:35
Probably not, Tom.

I’m placing out but for the bourbon crew look at the Widow Janes out there.  Very good bourbon.

Thanks guys .. now go buy Willis a shot of Whistle Pig !
Adam Bittner
10:36
It's official. Willis goes to Tennessee. Possibly a huge value for them after they were rumored to be in the QB market for the first round, let alone the third
Biff
10:37
NFL Draft Buzz .com has Leal rated as the 2nd best DT behind Jordan Davis. sounds a bit crazy to me but at least someone out there is high on him.

I asked Ray Fittipaldo during a chat about who was on his radar for DE in the Loudermilk mold.  Leal was one of the DEs he said
Biff
10:38
That's a good pick in round 3 for Titans
Professor Blackengold
10:38
A 283 pound DE tweener does NOT sound like the answer for improving the run defense!
Biff
10:38
Willis can sit behind Tannehill for antoher season and then take over when tannehill leaves after the season
Adam Bittner
10:39
Arizona grabs Cameron Thomas, San Diego State DE, at 87
Steve in Dexter Iowa
10:39
Loudermilk weighs the same.  He's a project DE that may be a future starter after the Tuitt/Heyward era
epiballo
10:39
Perhaps he can shoot running lanes and get in the backfield ... or gain some weight if that I needed.

The NFL Draft never disappoints in terms of entertainment and interesting drama.

Via Pro Footbal Network, Leal's strengths: Explosive one-gap defensive tackle who makes game-changing plays on the field. Athletic, quick off the snap, and plays with proper pad level. Rarely off his feet, strong in his lower body, and keeps his feet moving. Tough to knock from the action, moves well in every direction, and is fluid when asked to twist or stunt. Remains disciplined with assignments and easily changes direction or alters his angle of attack.
And weaknesses: Consistently controlled at the point by a single blocker. Does not display a great closing burst. Possesses average playing strength. True position on Sunday is still undetermined.

We still need a DT and SS
Scott
10:42
Now that the Eagles have Davis, maybe we can trade for Hargrave?
epiballo
10:42
We will know how good (or not good) of a draft it was in about three or four years ...

10:45
I don't think we have taken one player that will play right away
Brian Batko
10:45
Next time a Steelers coach/GM says they had to think long and hard about drafting a guy will be the first lol
Tom M.
10:45
Tenn. got Willis in the 3rd round but might have had a 1st round grade on him. Let’s see how that’s works out for them.
Adam Bittner
10:47
Wayne Newton looks better than most of these prospects
MD
10:47
Not much to like about Leal.  Not big.  Not fast.  Not productive against nfl caliber talent.  The Ravens get a stud DT 8 picks ahead of us and we get this stiff.  Can Colbert retire before tomorrow’s picks?
Adam Bittner
10:47
Dylan Parham from Mempis, a G, goes to Vegas with their first pick in this draft.
epiballo
10:47
I'm getting kind of tired of this 'Vegas' focus ... didn't they host the NFL and the NHL All Star games, and now the draft?
Adam Bittner
10:49
FWIW Todd McShay had Leal as his 59th rated player.
He also was beating the Dean drum for most of five hours the last two days. So.

I hope the Draft comes to Pittsburgh one of these years so they can have music provided by Donnie Iris, The Clarks, and Joe Grushecky and the Houserockers
