I am hoping Skubal keeps it together and goes all the way. Watching the past greats, Gibson, Seaver, Lolich and others carry their teams to championships was so much of what made the playoffs great. Gibson, for example, made 9 World Series starts and threw 8 CG's. I would be happy to see one.

hey wow, i got the Royals-Orioles on ESPN loaded on my desktop computer without needing to re-log in or anything. The ZiPS odds on that were lower than for the Marlins making the playoffs.

Always a weird situation when somebody's so clearly the ace a team depends on. I remember reading that Torre would always tell the Yankee hitters to take against Mike Mussina early on, because he knew the Orioles would leave him in too long, and they'd be able to score a bunch of runs when he ran out of gas.
