Spectacular play. I don't know how he was exacxtly where he needed to be, what a strange place to field a ball.

Badminton is so weird because of the rapid deceleration too, takes adjusting
Brian
8:04
I just replayed Benn
Ben Clemens
8:04
Let's just say I think I might be able to steal on Herrera if he's gonna do much more of that.
Brian
8:06
I think he never had a grip and knew it would have been a steal unless he just threw it... so he went for it anyway
Ben Clemens
8:06
Yeah, but I think you need to not throw that one. The best possible outcome is what happened.

Which do you prefer? 600 PA of Contreras at 1B or 450 PA of Contreras at C? I hated the move at first but like that he will get a good amount more PA
Ben Clemens
8:08
Yeah I like it actually. He's a good enough hitter for first, and this way they can find more out about Herrera. If they were one of the best teams in the NL I think they might make a different decision.
Michael Rosen

omg
Ben Clemens
8:10
that catch?
Davy Andrews
8:10
I mean, amazing play, but let Tommy slug.
Ben Clemens
8:11
I'm sorry, I must have missed this: Javy Baez, CF?
who is he gonna tag?
Greg
8:13
I know there's an accent in his last name but if Pedro Pages joined the mob would they call him "Petey Books"?
Ben Clemens
8:13
100% yes. I actually call him this already.
Davy Andrews
8:14
And not Peter Paper?
8:15
Wow, really good commercial for a macular degeneration drug. Baseball is so back.
Side effects: You'll die instantly.

Baby Biblio...
Greg
8:16
So there are two of us then. Spread it around! Petey Books and Jimmy Crooks, the Cubs will have to look for a pitcher named Eliot Ness!
millville meltdown

see if there's a rundown he can do whatever he wants ben

Why Thursday for Opening Day with most games during work hours still? Amazing day, but with work it is hard to be as into it and watch your teams opening game
Davy Andrews
8:18
I have to imagine the scheduling parameters kind of are what they are.
millville meltdown
8:19
do you think my boss would let me watch baseball while i move boxes around
Davy Andrews
8:19
Depends. Is your boss cool?
Adam S

Ben, was catching up on the chat and saw your comments about Sacramento. Are you near there? I'm about an hour away and going to Opening Day and the Wednesday game next week.
Ben Clemens
8:20
I live in the bay, so I'll be up a few times this year for sure

The gold looks tremendous, but no one has looked better with it sartorially than the Royals.
Ben Clemens
8:20
That is my opinion as well
millville meltdown
8:22
i have to imagine "let's ball, sactown" was not a popular idea for a cheer
Davy Andrews
8:23
Ok, well, chat's over, everybody. No one's going to top that.
Ben Clemens

I have an A's question for the Californians among you all. I've been to a lot of sporting events in California. In almost all of them, California Love has been played as background music at some point
Are the A's gonna risk it? "Oakland is definitely in the house" comes right before the part about Sacramento
Michael Rosen
8:24
lol
it's such a staple
i say yes
Davy Andrews
8:24
All Cake. Only Cake.
Ben Clemens
8:25
my two alarms are "Not Like Us" and "Arco Arena". I support a mix of California songs for the A's and I feel like almost every Cake song qualifies
Adam S

Do teams/DJs actually listen to the lyrics of the songs they play? It's just about having a beat and a hook, right?
