Eh, songs that reference california are very popular out here
b/c then people hear it and are like 'ooh I like this one'
Brian

If Born in the USA can be effective as a campaign song...
Michael Rosen
8:27
well that was an on-brand blake snell performance
Brian Cashman

I haven't really been paying attention can someone tell me why Masyn Winn is batting ninth? Is that a thing the Cardinals do?
Ben Clemens
8:27
Ehhhh.... not really? Like, not never, but not frequently
he hit 8th a lot last year
but mainly leadoff

I mean if "California" is in the title sure, but would they notice if a song was about Oakland? Either way, I'll keep an ear out to see what they play next week.
Ben Clemens
8:29
Yeah, I assume they'll play it. It's interesting though, a lot of the California pump up rap songs reference Oakland
and I can imagine the A's are very sensitive to the word "Oakland" right now, with good reason, them talking about it is a great way to get booed

Low OBP from lead off last year and had a terrible spring.
Ben Clemens
8:29
Nootbaar is a great leadoff hitter vR imo, and yeah, Winn is not really a high OBP guy

i like how the bullpen has "scott, tan" listed because there's too many t scotts
Davy Andrews

That happens when you move to LA, I guess.
Brian

Winn’s OBP and other numbers were good from 8/9 slot last year. Data supplied from Bernie M.

My wife just saw the Dodgers on and was like "The Giants won today... have the Dodgers won any games this year? looks like no'
and I had to be like "Yeah, two..."

If MacKenzie Gore is taking another step forward, How exactly do we evaluate the 1st Juan Soto trade? The Nat weren't resigning Harper and Strasburg's career was over. Sure, they traded the best hitter in baseball, but they might have essentially consolidated an entire rebuild in 1 trade. I mean Abrams, Gore, and Woods could easily be a great core to build around.
Ben Clemens
8:41
I was trying to think of a good blackjack or craps pun for a while before throwing this one in, but I came up empty
8:42
yeah, very good return, the kind of return you need to get to trade a star like Soto
