ALCS Game 6
powered byJotCast
Ben Clemens
8:51
Sprint in from the outfield, "Hey, chin up!"
8:52
Turn around, sprint back out
Meg Rowley
8:52
Now we're just writing innings I would write about?
Because I'm into that
Ben Clemens
8:53
This is a controversial opinion
But uh, how good do we think Blake Snell is these days?
I was thinking about the Rays' decision to take Snell out
And how I didn't even question it
8:54
I definitely do not think of him in the same uncontested ace tier that I used to
Meg Rowley
8:55
I think we use that term too liberally in general
Ben Clemens
8:55
I got hoodwinked by him winning the Cy Young
But yeah, I agree

Ben's Springer-running-in post reminds me that when former Red Sox manager "Walpole Joe" was managing in Triple-A, one of his outfielders made consecutive great catches and Morgan ran out mid-inning to shake his hand.
Ben Clemens
8:56
hahahaha amazing
AvatarDavid Laurila
8:56
Walpole Joe Morgan that is.
Meg Rowley
8:56
That's fantastic
Craig
8:57
It's clear he has the potential, but does your gut say Correa actually becomes that MVP candidate within the next 3-5 years? Or do you think he stays "just" above average?
Ben Clemens
8:57
Yeah I'm a seller of Correa as an MVP guy
Think he's a great player, All Star some years, but he needs to take another step forward, in my mind, if he's going to be an MVP candidate guy
8:58
Not to say that can't happen
I just don't see any obvious signs of it right now
8:59
Guerilla Radio continues to be a baffling musical choice by a billion-dollar corpporation
I like it! But I'm not sure I get it

Morgan also claims he once got thrown out of a game, and the next day the first batter hit a routine ground ball and was thrown out at first by a step and a half. Morgan came racing out, right to the same umpire, and said, "Good call; you got that right." Then he turned around walked calmly back to the dugout.
Mad Joe-Don
9:01
Aw. Now I'm sad about the other Joe Morgan.

9:02
Second-best second baseman in history.
Ben Clemens
9:03
Alright guys, I'm going to duck out. Had a blast hanging out. Good luck everyone's favorite teams, etc.
Meg Rowley
9:03
Good luck with poker, Ben!
Ben Clemens
9:03
May your non-tenders be surprising but make sense after some consideration
Mad Joe-Don
9:05
Behind Hornsby?
AvatarDavid Laurila
9:06
Yes on Hornsby.
9:07
The Astros do need to get nine more outs.

9:09
What are y’all’s takes on the new three batter minimum pitching rule
AvatarDavid Laurila
9:10
Not a fan, but it more benign than the other rules changes, some of which I hope aren't brought back.
Kiermaier's Piercing Green Eyes
9:10
Ugh, tomorrow's game is at 8:37. Come on MLB, no other league is dumb enough to schedule so many games that they know end after midnight.
Meg Rowley
9:10
Rehashing the 2012 draft feels unkind to me personally.
AvatarDavid Laurila
9:11
With a Game 7 looking likely, I believe it was Earl Weaver who said, "Momentum is only as good as tomorrow's starting pitcher."
redkel
9:14
Momentum's pretty good on both sides then.
Jeremy
9:14
Is it definitely Morton-McCullers tomorrow?
AvatarDavid Laurila
9:14
I'm not aware of an actual announcement, but it seems more than likely.
