This means that early deadline is very much same as regular deadline only difference is that it will have less competition and we will come to know latest by 15 Feb that we are offered or not. Other than that all the conditions are the same every thing is same.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir

Yes, that is correct.

Is it necessary to put GPA on resume
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:28
Hi Guest, no, it is not necessary. Besides, that will be on your application and on your transcript, so we have it. ;)

When are decisions released for early deadline MCIT on campus? And is it possible to get rolled back to the regular decision pool if you don't get accepted in the early pool
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:29
John, early decisions will be released on Jan and February 15. And if you are rejected, that is it; we do not reconsider applications once a decision has been made. Also, you may only apply once for a program per academic term.

If I am not offered in early deadline, will I be considered for regular deadline automatically?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:30
Nikhil, we do our best to make sure 100% of early deadline applicants receive a decision on the release day.

Hi, if my recommenders do not submit by the deadline, is there any advantage in submitting it early?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:31
Hi Nimish, only that you'll be done with your part. It won't be considered until after the March 15 deadline.

PhD program deadline is 15 Dec --- Is that early deadline? If yes, when is the latest one?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:31
Hi Guest, we don't have different deadlines for the PhD application. All programs have the Dec 15 deadline.
Aryan

Hi Will,
Two of my recommenders have already uploaded their recommendations but one of them hasn't. If he uploads it after the deadline, will his recommendation be considered?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:34
Hi Aryan. If it is uploaded after the deadline it becomes the decision of the program whether or not to consider it. If it's only a view days late, it is more likely. If it is submitted in late December or January, it becomes very unlikely.

Can I apply for both MS robotics and MS CIS within same term? What if I get accepted to both?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:34
Magic, you can. If you get accepted to both, you would then need to choose which one to start. You would be able to apply to start the 2nd one after you completed one semester in good standing in the first.
Nikhil

This means when you apply in early deadline and don't get admission, we cannot compete applicants in regular deadline. Which means we can compete only once, either early deadline or regular and not both.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:35
Nikhil, for one program, yes. If you apply for the CIS program early and are rejected, you can no longer apply for the CIS program, but you COULD apply for the MCIT program for the regular deadline, or any other program.

" Hi Guest, we don't have different deadlines for the PhD application. All programs have the Dec 15 deadline."
So, is that the early deadline?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:35
Guest, there is no early deadline - there is only one.

Hello Will! Does the Statement of purpose require that my name and email ID be stated explicitly at the beginning?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:36
Parnika, it does not. Since you're submitting it with your application, we usually assume it is from you ;)

Oh, not chiding at all! I appreciate the attention to detail. That's helpful in a potential future engineer.

What's the Acceptance and Graduation rate for MSE in DS?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:42
The acceptance rate last year was approx 9%. The Graduation rate is 90%+ over 2.5 years

One important question for PhD program, how do I apply for fellowship? Is it to be applied after acceptance of application or while in the first year.
Also, at what time of the program, the funding starts getting released to the candidates?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:42
Guest, you are awarded a fellowship if you are admitted. We sponsor all of our PhDs for at least 5 years, provided they are making good academic progress throughout the program.
Aryan
8:39
Does the resume have any specific requirements or thumb rules to be followed?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:43
Aryan, no, it does not.
Guest
8:41
Adding to Nikhil's question, how many candidates were admitted from the early applicants pool last year? What was the acceptance rate?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:46
The acceptance rate was just over 10%.
Kushan
8:42
By when are decisions for the early deadline out? And will we receive them via email or do we need to check the portal?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:47
Kushan, the decisions are released on Jan 15 and Feb 15. You will receive an email that you have a decision. Then you log into the portal to see your decision.

Hello again! So it turns out that my recommenders (one academic and one professional) have both submitted the LORs. I had left the Recommender 1 field blank but filled the Recommender 2 and 3 with the referee details, one of which I changed earlier. When I'm submitting the form, it is still asking me to fill out a recommender detail. What do I fill it out with?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:48
Parnika, yes, if you don't have a recommender to add, then please just make up some info to put in there. It requires information in the 1st slot if there is info after that. The system assumes that the 2nd is the 2nd, and not the first.

Nikhil
8:44
Will, you mean for last 2.5 years the graduation rate was 90%
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:49
I mean, 90% of students that started the program graduated in 2.5 years. The program has actually only been around for just over 2.5 years.
