Hi Susan.

I undertook 2 courses (5 ects each) as a visiting student at germany. I did these while i was still in my undergrad. The equivalent credits were waved off from my undergrad curriculum. Do i need to separately submit the transcrpts for these two courses? I am afraid i only have the soft copy.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:50
Magic, if you received credit for the courses then you do need to include them. If you only have the paper copy, you'll want to scan it so you can submit it.
Vincent
8:48
Hi Will, this is Vincent. I already submitted my application, had two LoRs delivered and ordered my tests delivery 1 month ago. However, my application is not completed since I found you need time to collect my docs. I was wondering if I will still be considered in the Early Admission Pools? Thank
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:51
Hi Vincent, I'm not sure what you mean. If all of the documents are submitted, they're all collected in the same place. We do review them to make sure we have everything we need - could this be what you're referring to? And if so, then your application should be checked within the next couple of days if you are applying to a program with an early application deadline.
Nikhil
8:48
and how many applied in early deadlines last year and how many got accepted in early deadline?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:52
Nikhil, we had over 600 apply by the early deadline last year. Approx 60 were admitted.
Susan

Is there any formatting for the unofficial transcripts? I tried to get pdf versions from my schools but they were encrypted and couldn't be uploaded. Is it okay to send image captures of my official transcripts instead
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:52
Susan, yes, as long as they are clear, that should be fine.
Vincent
8:48
Also, I am still waiting for my third LoR submitted, will it be reviewed even passed 11.15
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:53
Vincent, that will be up to the program, as well as depend on how long past the early deadline it is submitted. If it's only a few days, it probably will be. If it's a month or two, probably not.
Susan
8:48
Is it possible to early apply to both the MCIT and DS? I can't seem to link the applications...
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:53
Susan, it is. You need to submit the first application before you can begin the second. We link the applications because they'll both be from the same account.
Parnika
8:49
Can't thank you enough Will!
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:53
You're welcome, Parnika!
Susan

I was wondering if all applications for the early admission are reviewed. I ask because I'm not sure if my GRE scores will be high enough to be considered... Thank you.
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:54
Susan, yes, all applications that are completed by the early deadline will be reviewed. And we review ALL completed applications.
Vincent
8:50
By the way, I had my 2nd and 3rd LoR submitted, but not the 1st. I guess the system is smart enough to see I meet the requirement right....
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:55
Vincent, it is. Also, we have enrollment specialists that do the final check before we pass it along to the department. We'll make sure it's ready to be reviewed.
Nikhil
8:51
Generally how long in the MSE DS program?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:55
NIkhil, it's 10 courses, but it's only been offered full-time for 2.5 years. Most students complete it in 2 years, so far.
Iris
8:52
Hello, Mr. Fenton! Could research experience be filled in the section of employment?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:56
Iris, you can, if it was for a job.
Nikhil
8:54
Will this means % admitted remains the same, whether early deadline or regular deadline i.e. appr 10%
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:56
Nikhil, no, we admitted slightly lower number for the regular deadline. The overall number was approx 9%.
Aryan
8:56
Hi Will, the deadlines follow local time or Eastern Standard Time?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:57
Aryan, yes they follow Eastern Standard Time which, coincidentally, IS our local time :)
magic
8:56
What is the minimum GRE? I have 165/153. is it that bad?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:57
Magic, we don't have a minimum GRE.
Sambhit
8:56
Hello Will, any statistics regarding the Scientific Computing Program? Like acceptance rates?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:57
Sambhit, we admitted approx 30% of SCMP applicants last year.
Vincent
8:57
Hi, Will. Thanks for reply. I mean I only submitted my application and pay the fee today, maybe 10 min ago. However, the status shows my TOEFL and GRE tests score are needed, but I already ordered my delivery 1 month ago. Also it said my LoRs are needed, but I am sure 2 of them are submitted. I am not sure if it is because you need several days to process, and can I still be included in Early admission if that is the case? Thanks
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:59
VIncent, it usually takes at least 48-72 hours for your official test scores to be matched in the system. This is why we'll actually begin a review on your unofficial test scores, if you reported them on your application. If you've already submitted the official scores there is nothing to worry about. It will be considered in the early admissions group if we have everything else.
magic
8:57
Could you tell me the deadline time in SGT? I cant find the exact deadline time
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
8:59
Magic, you're in Singapore, right?
9:01
Singapore is 13 hours ahead of Eastern Standard Time, so the deadline in SGT would be 1:59PM SGT on Saturday, Nov 16, I believe.
Chinmay
9:00
Hello will
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
9:03
Hi Chinmay.
Aryan
9:02
Just to confirm, EST is 10:30 hrs behind IST (Indian Standard Time)
Therefore a 11:59pm EST Deadline would mean 10:29 am IST, 16th Nov right?
AvatarWill Fenton, Asst Dir
9:03
Aryan, I believe you're right.
