He expressed a preference for the West Coast when he first came over. At that time, that was a fine thing to do because he couldn't get more than a few million bucks anyway.

When he enters free agency, I'm guessing we will hear that he's willing to play anywhere. That might be true or a bargaining tactic, but that will likely be the position.

Giants probably have the bleakest outlook of any team over the next few years. No big league talent, no farm, crappy fanbase and area… at least the White Sox (2nd worst outlook) are in a bad division. Ohtani said he wants to win, SF isn’t the environment to do that

I think the desire to win stuff is true but I doubt he would take a significantly lesser deal based on the team's farm system or what have you. Money will be the big thing.
