I think it's relative to the excitement around the team. I've done Pirates and Tigers so far. They weren't as busy as this one, which makes sense with where those teams are.

We're vaguely going from rebuilding teams towards the more competitive teams in the next few weeks. Once we get to Mets, Padres, etc, they will probably be even busier.

My colleague Steve Adams pointed out last year that Detmers was using his slider way more last year after being recalled from the minors.
Detmers finished the year with a 3.04 ERA and 2.51 FIP after that recall.

We'll see if he can sustain it but there's reason to believe he figured something out.

He only has 288 career innings at short. Most of that was in 2021.
He was graded as slightly below average in that small sample.
I don't think he's Plan A but he's in the mix.

I don't see why they would trade him if they are in contention. They would get a haul, sure, but this club hasn't made the postseason since 2014. If they have a shot at getting in, I don't think they'll just throw it away.
