Talha, it is a mix, and can also vary by committee/dept. But usually there is an initial screen based on objective statistics, and then a further dive for those that appear favorable.

Yifan, we don't accept new test scores for applications if they were taken after the application deadline. Also, it is up to the department if they want to interview you or not.

Hello, I wonder why the EE MSE admit rate increase that large last year. I remember it's only 44% two years ago before but it reached 54% last year. Will that still increase this year?
