Thanks Will for all the answers! You mentioned that the MCIT program received approximately 150 applications for the early decision round. May I know what that number was last year?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Johnny, it was approximately 170.

As a follow up question, are the MS Decisions rolling or they  will be released on 15th January only?

Guest, you can find all of the decision release dates for all of our programs here: https://gradadm.seas.upenn.edu/how-to-apply/

Hi.. I am working in Philadelphia on a work visa.. I have applied to UPenn as a regular student with GRE / IELTS scores.. is there a provision for being a full time student with night or weekend classes and continue with my work visa and no student visa?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

Arnab, you'd need to speak with our International Student Services and Scholars office, but to my knowledge there is not. However, the ISSS office handles all visa issues, to they will know better than I. You can email them at isss@pobox.upenn.edu and find their information here: https://global.upenn.edu/isss/immigration

Hi Will, in the previous chat, you mentioned Data science program received more than 600 applications in the early round last year, and there are approximately 436 applications this year, so can I say there is a smaller pool this year for data science program?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist

HS, they received approximately 360 during the early period last year. the larger number, 1107l, was the total amount of apps they received for the 2019-20 academic term.

While I know that UPenn follows a holistic approach towards evaluating applicants, how much of an emphasis is given to a high quantitative GRE score for cases where the GPA may or may not be as high especially for MSEEE

Siddhant, I can tell you that it definitely helps, but that's about it. Sorry!

Also is the admissions process a blind process? What I mean is, if I put my name on my statement of purpose, does that information get crossed out before the review process?
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:45
Johnny, I believe they'll know it's your statement of purpose because it is reviewed with the rest of your application.

Hello Sir! What are the previous admission stats for the Grasp program. Also on the website it is mentioned that the average GRE verbal of admitted candidates was 167 and quant was 160. Is theverbal requirement this high. I got a good score in quant but verbal is 150 which is much less than the average according to the website

Hi Guest. I believe you are asking about the Robotics MSE program? Last year we had 600 applicants and admitted 96, for an approximate rate of 16%. As for the GRE Verbal score, there is no required score, but we that is representative of the quality of the applicants we do receive. That score is an average, so there are going to be lower scores as well. But ultimately, this is just part of the overall application that is reviewed.

Hello sir, for the recommendation letters, I have send links to 3 of my advisors, will the admission committee wait till all three of them  to submit or the application review can start whenever 2 of the recommendations are received
AvatarWill Fenton, Enrollment Specialist
10:52
Guest, they will usually wait until the application deadline, so if all 3 are in by the deadline, then all 3 will be reviewed.
