Hi everyone, I have applied to the CGGT program. I wonder if I can choose to pursue the option of first taking MCIT then CGGT, even if I have an engineering undergraduate major (EE).

Gang Yao, you can't if you didn't apply to MCIT; but you can take additional courses in the MCIT program list.

Hi Will, regarding the interview weekend, how do invitations for each weekend work from the department's end? Does a PI have to express interest in a candidate for them to be invited?

Nikunj, the depts send out the invitations; our office doesn't handle them. And yes, I believe a PI usually has to have expressed interest. However, as I said, our office isn't involved, so I can't give you a definite answer.

How are fellowships like the NSF's GRFP taken into account if they are awarded? The announcement date for that is in April, and might be after admissions decisions are complete.

Nikunj, they aren't taken into account for most of our programs. They may be taken into account for late PhD admits, but this is about it.

I'm applying for the 4+1 submatriculation program through Haverford College. If accepted, would it be possible for me to take one of the classes over this coming summer? If so, would that count as one of the classes at Haverford (included in Haverford tuition) or one of the ones at Penn (separate tuition)?

Henry, you would have to apply to your program to start early. If they agree, I'm not sure how the funding would work. You should email our registrar, Tori Frew at vfrew@seas.upenn.edu to find out.

Abhriup, we don't have caps on the number of students admitted from one country. This is just one of many different items taken into consideration when making decisions.
